Mmm. Here we are again:
https://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/7619241.stm
Two T5's, apparently 'on a training exercise'... The car following loses control and in to an oncoming car, the driver of which died in hospital, his wife survived.
The coppers belive their speed was safe and so are denying death by dangerous driving. Obviously not that safe, you fucking murdering pigs.
What are they teaching these drivers? Any respect I had for class 1 skills are long gone. Fuck them. I'm a safer driver than them. To top it all, the cowards are blaming each other and refusing to take responsibility for the death. Cunts.
At least the Black Box was working on this one. I suppose 3 fatalities in 2 months with a recorder not recording may have bought up some questions.
The cynic in me suggests it was a race, or one-upmanship that led to the death. In the words of NWA:

Cunts.
Absolute cunts.
On a B road too.
And trying to wriggle out of it! The fucking cheek. Claiming doing 104mph on country roads is 'safe' when normal drivers are persecuted and chastised by these same people for doing 90 on a clear motorway.... ____________________ CBR125|||GSXR400|||CBR400|||CBR400|||CB250RS|||GSXR750|||CB250RS

Why is it that no one ever bothers to post threads about the drunk drivers killing innocent people?
Or the police officer who risked their life to save another innocent life?
Or the unlicenced, uninsured and untaxed driver who killed a mother of four?
Why do people only ever consider it news and worthy of berating someone when it's a copper who has been involved in a fatal crash?
Tell you what, the next time your granny/mother/aunty/sister is getting mugged/beaten/raped/assaulted and the police take three hours to get to them, remember this thread and remember the insults you flung at the police when they were training in how to respond to in an emergency.
All these people who are so much better than the police, I see you're not a member of the constabulary, why not? Don't they allow abusive know it alls in the force any more?
The day you can take the insults, the violence and the every day threats to you and your family, that's the day I'll ignore stupid comments about "the fucking pigs"! |

Ok for a bit of balance in that direction, i will briefly mention my mate who is a copper who inadvertently caught two armed robbers fleeing the scene of a violent robbery where someone was seriously injured. He got a commendation for that one and a ticking off from the boss for taking unnecessary risks.
He also caught a burglar red handed using knowledge of the area and a guess as to which way he would go after the burglary was erported.
I'm sure he has done loads of other stuff too.
The way I see it, police have to be violent thrill seekers to some extent. Sometimes they will make mistakes and sometimes they will go too far, but better that than do too little.
For the record, my mate hated the police before he joined, and in his interview he had a bit of a rant about the lazy coppers who didnt catch a bike theif, who he then later found himself, calling police to pick him up.
So if anyone hates a bad copper more than a member of the public, its a conscientious copper.
He received a serious assault when some of his colleagues failed to back him up in an incident in a bar on a friday night.
Some police arent too bothered about being called pigs, and when they are on their training they are referred to as piglets ____________________ colin1 is officially faster than god |

It is easy to sneer and find fault with all who keep you in check than actually standing up and doing something. It is harder and beyond alot on here because behind a keyboard they are heroes.
However I do believe that the two PCs involved in the accident were in the wrong on this occasion. It does appear from the little information that has been chosen to be given that it was inappropriate and some testosterone was involved. In a training exercise ( and I do agree that they should be trained to handle a vehicle at high speed) composure should be one of the skills taught. ____________________ Famous last words of Humpty Dumpty. Woah! Calm down!
I think most people appreciate that the police have a tough job to do. There is also a proportion who abuse their powers because they know there is very little job public can do.
Drink drivers, rapists, murderers all exist. They police are there to catch them and bring them to justice. It's the court who decide the punishment.
However, when an article like this crops up, it is difficult not to be pissed off.
Watch 'Road Wars' and the traffic cops are bigged up about having xx number of years of pursuit training, the best training and are then best of the best when it comes to driving. Being the best doesnt permit them to take risks.
I have had training for ambulance driving and we are taught the same principals. It's very easy to get 'blue light fever' and get carried away. But they should be professional enough to know that there comes a time to ease off. The road conditions dictate this.
You do not chase someone at over 100mph through country lanes, regardless of training or real life. It doesnt matter what they did. We have these funny things called helicopters. Let them do the tracking.
I think these guys should both be prosecuted for causing death by dangerous driving. The lead driver should not have been going so fast. The 2nd driver should have eased off if he was not in control of the vehicle. If he didnt know he wasnt in control, he shouldnt be driving full stop. ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

Oh ok, so you don't mind if a drunk driver kills an innocent person?

No I'd quite happily see them hung drawn and quartered but we are not discussing drunk drivers, we are discussing so called professional drivers whose "safe" driving resulted in the death of some bloke minding his own business.
| bikerchick82 wrote: |
The police aren't protected from charges being brought against them.

That's not what the press seems to show, I don't recall the last time I heard of a police driver being prosecuted but I can remember a few folk getting killed by them.

How about the coppers who choose to join the scheme whereby if an officer is killed on duty then they donate a full days pay to the family of the killed officer?

So we agree that they look after their own.

You are exactly the sort of person that ensures a lot of people wouldn't be able to hack being a copper!

So you think more people would join the force if less people questioned them when they got it wrong?
I really dont think that would improve things do you?
| bikerchick82 wrote: |
Let me guess, you'll type away furiously on your keyboard moaning about the police

When they kill innocent people? yeah Ill moan, Ill wonder why this training cant take place in a closed area, why innocent people have to be put at risk.
The army have built whole villages to train in urban warfare, they don't see the need to involve civilians in their training excercises so I really don't see why the police need to.
| bikerchick82 wrote: |
and ranting about what wankers they are

I have never and will never say that the police are wankers, I could give you the name of an individual officer who I think is a wanker, but on the other hand I could give you the names of a couple of officers that do the service proud.
| bikerchick82 wrote: |
yet you'll expect them to go and find your stolen bike or help jail the rapist who took a liking to your little sister?
|
Yes because that what we pay them for!

Let's see how the country does without a police force and see exactly how bad it can get! |
An interesting idea, not sure its one I would support but Im pretty sure Jean williams would be a lot happier without them. ____________________ Yamaha RXS 100 > Gilera Runner 50 > Suzuki SV650SY |

There was an unmarked police car in Gloucester the other morning "practicing" emergency runs with blues and twos on, in the morning rush hour! Fucking idiots only did 85 mph when they got to the M5 they held loads of people up ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

Only following orders defence does not work....
It can only possibly work is there is no viable realistic alternative, ie you are told to execute prisoners or be executed yourself. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. I recall following an unmarked (other than a yellow sticker on the boot saying Police - Driver Instruction), at speeds of upto 100mph on a B road in Northumberland for about 15 miles. I maintained a safe distance from his T5 in my rented 1.6 Focus Estate , and did all the 'police lines' through the corner shit, just to piss him off a bit.
He did eventually get me to pull over, and the instructor came out and asked me what the speed limit was on the road - '60' I said. 'Well you were following us and we were doing 100 and you weren't dropping back'.
I think he then realised how fucking ridiculous his evidence would have been in court. The look that the WPC in the back seat shot me was priceless - as if I were a piece of dogshit. I thought, 'Yeah, you may not like it, but there is fuck all you can do to me without dropping yourselves in it.'.
One of my proudest moments.
The double standards are so infuriarating. "I have had training, therefore I can do this. Should you ever do it, it is incredibly dangerous, and we will prosecute you without exception." Fucks me right off. |

You're allowed to drive at whatever speed you want when under duress, therefore maybe he was practiciing
Bikerchick seems to have gone off on one here Maybe her mate is/was a copper or she used to be one who knows, but bit of blind rage getting in the way of logical argument it seems.
The red nine system, right how many red nines do you get for smashing the driver of an oncoming car to bits when you have a head on from losing control while driving too fast. One? Poor bastard, he's only allowed to kill 2 more people while on duty and he'll lose his job AND his pension, god isn't life unfair. In any profession, no matter what, if you cause a serious accident let alone kill someone you would lose you job and be thrown at the mercy of the courts to decide what sentance you get, unless you're a copper. |
