Well i may have been caught this morning, ruined my ride and i just had to turn around and get home.

However, i was accelerating through the camera (didn't realise at the time, i had just got out of a jam and happy to be moving), so if i was speeding it would only have been in the last 1/2 of the white lines, is that enough to be nip'd?

Also how much leeway does the camera give you? Is it 10%, so i could of been going 33, factor in speedo over-read i could have been going 36 by my speedo right?

It was a busy road, on a really nice morning (lots of fast cars and bikes about), and it was a gatso, could it have run out of film? It was about 12 o'clock i think.

Can i request photo's to verify my speed as i am unsure if i was speeding, i remember years ago someone telling me they often could not find the pics and dropped it.

I am really worried, i need my licence for my job, if i get 3 points i will have to sell the bike as my probation period doesn't finish until next summer and its not worth the risk.

Stop panicking firstly. You're not even sure if it went off, so just wait a few days and see if you get a letter.

Secondly, why would you have to sell your bike? Surely your right wrist is controllable? Confused

If you got two flashes sweat for the next 2 weeks... Or 6 months if you are really the nervous type...

Whenever I've set speed cameras off (and I purposely try and set them off when I'm riding without a plate), they flash instantly... Even before you reach the lines!

I get half-way through the lines and pin it and they never ever set off. The lines are there so measure you if you're doing 100mph in a 30mph zone. That isn't the range of where you're measured. It's before you reach the lines.

You haven't been caught if what you're saying is true...

Yeah. I went through one the wrong way once.

That set it off. Thumbs Up

Down the wrong side of the road.

I have never met or talked to you before luke, but have read loads of your posts and posts about you and knew you'd know about the subject Laughing

Hope your right, i didn't see a flash but the sun was behind me so doubt i'd notice it. Just before the camera started i was going at about 20, the traffic cleared and i just full on twisted the throttle in excitement when i was level with the camera so considering i have a 33bhp throttle stop i doubt i was going over the limit until i was at least 1/2 way.

If it flashed you would have noticed it. Doesn't matter where you were on the markings either if it did flash.

Yeah you'd notice a flash it's one of those "Huh?! Wait, what the fuck was tha-....Oh bollocks." kind of moments

Sounds like you'll be fine, you have 14 days by which to receive a NIP through the post. Technically it's slightly longer because they have to have posted it within 14 days. And 6 months to lay it in front of a court.

But really, shit it for 2 weeks, and if nothing hits the doormat you're safe.

You'd see it flash even with the sun low down behind you, I'll bet a pound to a bucket of shite you're in the clear. Wink

That fourteen days thing is a bit misleading, they have fourteen days to send out the NIP, not receiving it yourself within fourteen days is no guarantee.

I had a fair few working as a field engineer, the car wasn't registered to me so tickets went to the leasing company. I'd think "wehay, got away with that one...." Then it was "bugger," as the NIP thing came from the leasing company...
