Out on a Run today 28 bikes in total great weather, good roads, just hooning it too way to fast on approach (about 60MPH) to the corner locked up the back, hndful of front scrubbed a lot of speed but way too late for the corner so parked it in the hedge ! ( luckily missed 2 cheveron signs and a telegraph pole, apparently by inches according to the guy/gals following me) i guess i hit the hedge at about 25-30MPH minimal damage to bike just fairing screen, and split a weld on my exhaust. took an impact to my upper chest but nothing seems broke just a little sore.

Not saying this doesnt happen to everyone, just saying people in glass houses....

This forum is becoming overpopulated with critics.

Good job on missing the chevrons though, saved a bit of cash I reckon!

I agree 100% it was my fault, eating humble pie right now.

Cheverons, just lucky, but i do remeber looking at the bit of hedge i was aiming for after i decided i was gonna dump it instead of try for the corner.

What is it with all the crashes being posted all of a sudden? For gawd's sake, ride a bit more carefully everyone, thankfully every crash so far has ended up with a survivor - so far.

Herd mentality I suspect.
28 bikes is far to many on a run, the back need to be reckless to keep up with the leader.

spot on ish - we were running a marker system so you don't have to play keep up unless your barmy (erm like me).

At the last stop before my spill whilst walking to a shop i was chatting with another fella (still don't know his name) and said 'i feel like i'm taking more risks than i would if i were on my own' how true did that statment turn out to be... Perhaps it was my mind already trying to tell me to slow down.

Salty: Yeah the primers gone to pot, looks like i'll be spending another weekend repairing that fairing again ! Not too sore guess i'll be alright ta.

Well at least you lived and so did the bike Andy.
I led a run a few years back mostly off road and tracks but with a 20 odd mile stretch on an A road, I kept up a steady 60mph at the front to be safe on the main road, guys at the back were having to hit 80 to keep up.

Glad your mainly alright Thumbs Up

Definetly. Was on a run of 6 bikes at the weekend and even that was running pasts my limits of comfort at times. Consequently rode slower and got left behind, but I enjoyed it more than wondering if I was going to make the corner everytime.

Bloody lucky there mate, good to hear your relatively unhurt and not much damage.
When I decided to park in a hedge I managed to find entire plastics fairing clocks tank seat everything for 150 from a breakers and they were in better condition than the originals.
Take care mate.

"so parked it in the hedge"...love it! Reminds me of 'couldn't make the bend so had to lay it down'.

At least your OK.
