I need to be able to plug my old hard drive into my lap top to get stuff off it as it dosnt look likely that the pc is going to be fixed. I was shown in here caddies but now I am looking at them and I havnt a clue which one to get and if it will work for me? Shocked Totally bloody brain dead!
I rang the storage depot which had some good cheap ones (only need basic etc) and there was no one there I could speak to for help.

what do I need to know? how the hell doe it work for a start? Embarassed and I want a cheap one.

You need to know whether your old HDD is IDE or SATA.

Is it a laptop Drive?

No its a tower drive and a crappy one at that, my lap tops new though. Ok how do I know if its a old HDD or SATA?

I seen loads on ebay and they are resonable priced just dont know what one to go for.

If it's an old PC HDD you will most likely need to look for a 3.5" IDE caddy.

If ot's only a temporary connection this should do you. Clicky

Cool . Phoned brother he is going to have another go at fixing it as windows seems to have gone awol in it but if it dosnt work then I will be getting one of these. Cheers for your help Mr. Green
