My 125 is only going 50?

On my Yamaha YZF R125 i've done about 350 miles and I was on 6-7000 RPM in 6th gear, their was a bit of a wind behind me and it was only going 50, what up with it?

It's a four stroke. Max its really gonna do wont be much above 60 odd, and you've only done 350m on a brand new engine. Let it run in a bit but don't expect anything lightspeed

Erm doesn't sound like there's anything up with it.
I presume you mean you were holding the throttle open and it wasn't getting faster?
Because it's pretty lowpowered, you probably need to drop it down a gear or two to get it into a 'powerband', then knock it up when you get near peak peak revs.

Err, just realised you're presumably running it so don't want to take it to higher revs. So yes, that's one of the down sides of buying a slow bike from new; you have a slow bike and are further limiting the speed it can go.

Binding brakes, you weigh 20 stone, you weren't really in 6th, someone has pissed in your petrol, timing's out, someone has lodged a turd in the exhaust, head gasket blowing, valve not closing fully, manky sparkplug, you went from 1st to 6th changing up at 3000rpm, you have porridge instead of oil, there's a small child stuck between your rear wheel and mudguard, you left the choke on, you didn't have the throttle open all the way, too much sperm in the airbox...

Could be a number of things.
