looking to buy a leather suit on ebay but seem to border between a size 38-40,

i am 10 stone, 5'64, waist 30, slim build

Will only be using it for track so won't be doing any walking with them so being a little tight is not an issue

Reckon I should go for a size 38 ? any other similiar sized persons out there ??

(no option for me to stroll into a shop to try out sizes)

cheers

Bad news is that sizes and fit varies between manufacturers. Arm length, back length, even seemingly the way they measure chest size.

I'm about your size (5'8", 10 1/2 stone) and I've got one jacket that's a 38, and one that's a 40.

If you're buying new, the seller ought to be able to give you accurate measurements off the actual leathers,

If you're buying 2nd hand, and they don't fit you might be able to sell them on again for more than you paid. Well, you never know.

Just thought, a lot of leathers are sold in European sizes, so you'll be looking at 48 or 50. But a 38UK is likely to be a slightly different size from a 48 European.

You could just buy the bigger size then get it taken in by a place that does alterations.

You should be OK with a 38 or 48 euro.
I'm about a stone heavier than you but similar build, and have an old one that size is still wearable (but tight as it should be).

Examples of differing sizes...

Astar, sized small (roughly two sizes down) leg and arm length to suit the longer limbed person.

Spidi, sized small again, (roughly two sizes down) leg length suitable for someone with long legs, body is short, arms are also short.

Teknic, very generous sizes, (roughly one to two sizes bigger) leg length in relative comparison to the size, arms and body also in comparison to size.

And that's just the one pieces that we sell Rolling Eyes

You really do have to get out there and try on some suits/two pieces before you buy, the sizes are so different right across the range Thumbs Up
