A mate of mine just passed his test and has about £2000 to spend on a bike, but he really wants a V twin as apposed to an IL4 which is the norm for new riders i'd say.

So i reccomended an Old monster, although he wants atleast a half fairing, preferebly full so the next obvious choice was an sv650 but he doesnt fancy the curvys and the pointies are a bit pricey.

So are there any other V twin 600's that i can reccomend as to be honest, i dont really know of any!

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I suggested that, especially so because of the nsr250 derived frame but apparantly they look old and again, no fairing Sad

If only insurance was cheaper on a larger bike he wouldnt have a problem.

And the other issue that they neither handle or go like an NSR.

Should be able to get a pointy SV for £2k ok, I'd have thought.
TRX is worth considering (yes, I know it's neither 650 not a 'v', but your mate sounds a bit stupid for wanting a bike on such arbitrary selections. Smile)

Honda Deauville 650?

Ticks all the boxes and would be more than enough bike for a newbie.

If the only reason he doesnt want a curvy SV is looks then theres the V raptor, or hyosungs SV engined GT thing, comes naked or sporty looking.
