Have you ever bumped into one of your old bikes

I went to a Honda dealership to look at the new blades when I saw a k5 GSXR 1000 just like mine outside.

Turns out after a week of owning it the guy who bought it off me thought it was to much bike for him and chopped it in on a new 6rr, checked the odo and he had only put about 50 miles on it.

Dealership said I could have it for $4500 cash not bad when I sold it for $7500 I want her back

So have you ever come across a bike you have sold in the past ?

This one is weird as I sold my old TZR a few years ago then one of my mates bought it not knowing it was mine about a year after I sold it! then I sold my rebel to someone else and that same person bought it off that someone else He seems to buy my previous bikes but never off me.

I sold a VFR to someone and it ended up also in an old child hoods friends hands who I hadnt seen seen sine we where in primary school and I always wondered what happened to him. well he is on my old bike now.

No (i've only owned one bike) but I did drive past my old car about a week after selling it. It was broken down, bonnet up on the A31 coming out of Dorset. Sucka!

Never seen one of my past bikes, but I destroyed a car, (knackered sub frame and front axle), abandoned it on a local car park, then about 2 months later someone living on the same street as me was driving it around.

Nope. Usually when I've finished with a bike, it has been ridden to within an inch of its life and is useful only as parts or until the current MOT runs out.

I have a mate I've known since I was at university. His name is Anton. Back in 2005 I sold my Triumph Daytona 955i to a mate of Antons who lives in Leeds. I never thought I'd see it again. Fast forward a couple of years, and this Leeds mate of Antons decided to emigrate to australia and needed to sell the bike. By this time Anton had left his life of perpetual education and managed to get gainful employment - so he bought the bike off of Leeds bloke for a song.

And he still has it. I see it quite regularly and I even rode it a few weeks back. I'd forgotten how much of an awesome bike it is. Compared to my Fireblade it just feels great. The blade is a good bike, but for me I didn't find it fun because its so edgy. The throttle, steering , suspension and brakes all feel like they are on a knife edge. The Daytona on the other hand cossets you and wraps you in cotton wool. It doesn't turn super quickly but the suspension is plush and compliant. Once it is laid down in a corner nothing can upset it. Similarly the ride quality is fantastic. If it had a more padded seat and didn't have arse-down-bum-up clipons it'd be a fantastic distance bike. The closest thing I've ever ridden is Bendys Sprint ST 1050, which is the comfy version of it. I actually really liked it.

I really did like it but somehow I prefer my speed four. Which is also weird because I didn't like my TT600 all that much - it was a little bland. Fun, and fast but bland. The Speed four is comfy, fast, fun and anything but bland.

Finally I'm content with a bike!!

The first NTV650 I wrote off at Securicor, I bent the frame and snapped the forks off of it. A certain Bike shop in Crawley rebuilt it but forgot about the frame and fitted it with black bodywork. Reg was M78? DAP I think.

Sold my old vfr to a guy who lives just outside leicester (think he may be registered on the forum but doesn't come on often) who promptly blew up a 6k mile engine.
He had tonnes of trouble with it just as I had and has just sold it to an old school mate of mine who always liked it since I had it.
Trouble is he never knew how much of an utter lemon it was to start with...I think after having it for 3 weeks he's about ready to scrap it! I thought i warned him...

I'd love to have another go on it but it looks like it's not going to be back on the road... shame, I've still got a tonne of parts he could've had

I've never sold a bike, but my poor CG got nicked, was riding to MFN over the summer and following a CG and got thinking about it.

The one in front was one of the Jap import ones that had old style bodywork, but the modern engine (well the only change was carb but nevermind) and it was missing its rear rack, r/h side battery cover and front mudguard, which I'd taken off mine before it got nicked, anyway I remember sickpup saying that they where imported by David Silver in 2001, and the only other CGs of the same kind that I've seen have all been '01 ones but this one was on an R plate.



Theres a very slight chance that I followed my old CG on a new plate

Quite regularly, sold my 250 to a mate, and recently sold the CG to another mate.

every other bike ive owned is either in pieces or stolen.

Nope. Only owned one bike before the hornet. It was a CG and the guy who bought it looked like a chav. About a month later the cops turned up at my door to say it had been in an accident and wanted to know why I still had it insured (I hadn't cancelled insurance as I was just going to switch policy to new bike). My guess is the guy who bought it didn't bother to insure it. They seemed happy enough with my explanation and I never heard any more than that.

not long ago i saw my old fzr 1000 that i owned probably about 10 years ago! no longer in the gun metal grey with yellow wheels, but in malbro colours nice to see the old beast still rocking on. had some real good hooligan fun on that thing, handled like a barge (looking back) but went like a missle

Bumped into the first owner of my old CBR... turns out he lowsided it once, flipped it once and had it stolen from outside his house. Which explained the mis-matched locks.

After that run of bad luck, he sold it.

Dad bought my 400/4 off me, so I saw that for another year or so before he parted company with it.

My first NC30 appeared on Ebay as a damaged repairable.

I've seen my RVF a couple of times, John had kept it on good nick and done some further work to the suspension, the frame had lost its sheen though, and had grown chicken strips.

I'm sure I've seen my R6 buzzing around locally, still with it boiler of an exhaust can I sold it with.

Well I sold my moped to a friend and she was often parked in the same bike park as I used. My zzr was sold to my Dad so I will see it this weekend when I go home, I'm selling the NSR this weekend not sure if I'll be bumping into it much though.

i sold my cbr600 fk just over a year ago on fleabay and was looking for a bike and came a across my old cbr , i kinda wanted to buy it back as it was such a good bike but it sold for 150 quid more than i sold it for !!!!

i even rang they guy up to ask about the bike , you should a heard his voice change when i told him it was my old bike that sure stopped the crap coming out of him mouth,

come on it had to be done
