Its a front wheel off job, not difficult though, if you have a torque wrench and something stable to prop the bike up onto (i used a car jack to lift it and a load of wood to keep it there after takeing the jack away, but there is probably a better way) haynes manual or similar is also something you need if your going to do anything major like pulling wheels off not least for torque settings..
If its the same as mine its a drive thats between the fork and the wheel you pull it out and thats it, might just need greasing...
(do this before pulling wheels off) Take the drive out at the clocks end and see if it turns with the front wheel, if it does then you can rule out the drive and the speedo cable, then maybe try takeing it out of the drive end after and using a drill on very low speed (carefully though would be easy to brake it) if the speedo don't go then its the clocks (probably).
