Hi,

My throttle return cable keeps binding inside the throttle assembly so I've removed it entirely - will there be any problems with this at MOT?

The throttle still snaps closed on its own. The only way you can tell the difference is that it can be turned backwards (it doesn't rev the engine or anything, just goes backwards).

I know it's a bodge, but will it pass?

Does the throttle shut normally? Can the MOT tester see that a cable is disconnected?

If the throttle works as advertised and no one can see that a cable is disconnected I wouldn't worry. The tester is not allowed to dismantle the bike in any way so it won't be an issue.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

It does shut perfectly normally, except, as I said, it can also be rolled the other way.

Apart from that it operates fine.

Mine did exactly that, twisted the other way when you throttled off. Although it didn't really affect the bike thats one of the things it failed its MOT on.
