I'm looking for a "decent" base unit for sub £250, anyone know of any places to look ?

I could build it myself but if I could get one at a decent price it would do away with that.

What do you mean decent?

What do you want to do with it?

This is about £60 over budget, but it's the most basic "decent" thing I could find and saves you building it yourself.

It's got a decent Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD. Only let downs are the poor graphics card 8400GS and the fact it has no OS loaded onto it.

I changed the motherboard with the configurator as I think it's important to have a P35 chipset mobo instead of the P31.

Have a play at https://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/intel_core_2_duo_custom_builder/ to build your own.

If you have a local second hand dealer ala cash convertors nearby, go have a browse, I sell fully refurbished core 2 duos of similar spec for under 200 quid and older P4/Athlon's for getting as low as 100. Whilst I'm ultra strict about our reinstallation and recovery procedures, most places are not though, so inspect the machine very very carefully, play it safe and recover/reinstall it unless the staff are 100% clear that it has been wiped already.

Be clear where you stand with a warranty before you hand over a penny too, even with my picky wiping and testing process we still get some lemons slip through.
