Yep I am soooo excited.

There may have been a certain darkness and bitterness in my posting recently that was not there when I joined BCF

This might have a lot to do with Bounce having been off the road for many months after I blew the headgasket on a run, the engine died on me and I haven't been able to afford sorting it all out.

Nearly a week ago I finally got the package of engine gubbins I needed from David Silver (had to have a rebore and Bomber also suggested some work to the valves while he was in there)

Anyway, yesterday Bounce went through its MOT (kph speedo and everything) and is ready for me to pick up and tax during my Lunch today.

I believe I am experiencing the Human emotion known as Happy.

Anways, I thought I'd best explain in case some of my unaccountable good mood spills over into my posting and people start questioning my identity...

I decided to treat it to these...

Of course it would look a while lot better if I could get the fist sized dent out of the top of the tank... Sad

If they are alloy watch out for them seizing onto the tyre valve.

All the best

How hard can it be to tax a bike - still mission successful. For the first time in a year I am mounted on Bounce again!

They gave me a piece of paper with the running instructions. Not sure exactly where I lost it, but I know am not supposed to be exceeding 4k rpm - unfortunate that everytime I change gear it spikes to 5k

Smile

Anyways I was having a whole I am not going to have any fun because I am out of practise and had the 4k restriction. Yeah, that didn't last long combat filtering through the 6pm traffic - yeeeehaaaahhh!!!

Now I just need to get the engine run in so I can go faster than 40mph!

I've just talked to Si about getting it run in properly. Might be run in by February. Sad I am never having a new bike - ever.

I was hoping I could hop down to MFN soon, but that isn't happening at 40mph!

Anyway, on the subject of time etc, when are we tackling the CB?

I've been without a working bike for about 2 months now. I couldn't be bothered to fix the holed piston til today but now I also cant be bothered to put the new bits back together on the bike.

I've actually done more on it today then I have in the last last month and a half, but have lost the keys. I so badly wanna ride some twisty roads, in the car is just not satisfaction. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I've also not been in the best of moods generally, but gettin a quote of £300TPO on a 600 has put a pre-ride smile on my face today. Twisted Evil Let's hope the 2 wheel fun soon commences.

<<WATCH THIS SPACE>> Cool Laughing

When you've got the cash for the radiator and rear tyre, and I've got some space to do it. Very Happy

heh heh hey!

I lasted 98miles at 4krpm and then last night I filtered a boy racer at a set of lights and he tried to beat me off of the lights into a limited space

my inner hooligan got out and I spanked him, did mean redlining it in 1st and 2nd before I got the revs under control

I am dead chuffed to be through the first 100 miles though - 40mph everywhere was kiling me. I'm looking forward to some longer trips to MFN etc

How are you running it in? It's sounds like it will die a slow painful death rather than actually get run in. Razz Laughing

From my experience, They usually seize when they have been left on for ages. Like on Car, with an owner who rarely checks their pressures.

Majority of bikers check their air once a week/fortnight. (Or Should), So as long as they are off and on quite often, they should be okay. However, Nothing stopping you putting a smear of grease on the valve threads to prevent any seizure. Thumbs Up

I dabbed a small bit of copper grease on the valve before tightening.

First hundred miles at under 4000 rpm
First five hundred miles at under 5000 rpm
First thousand miles working up to the redline

Smile Now I can actually get places at more than 40mph I should be able to get through the second stage relatively quickly and then I can start behaving normally (normal for me that is)

Not necessarily, the reason I asked is because I am running the NS in again, and I ride as if it were run in, there is no real difference to any power stage in comparison with it being already run in.

Alains wasn't best happy when he realised this, still don't get why. Confused Smile
