Wheelchair users and motorbikes?

As a random question, are any of you fully wheelchair bound, or no anyone who is and rides a motorbike?
I'm not 100% sure of the situation, but I'm applying for a PA/Companion job for a young bloke who describes himself as a 'very mobile wheelchair user'.
Has anyone taken pillion who has not had the use of their legs? Does anyone know anything about bike design, I know there are hand controls but obviously you would need to stabilise the bike at lights and when you stop etc?

Hi

There is at least one guy around who is wheelchair bound with no use of his legs and who rides a bike (was a Fireblade when I met him). Had pop down stabilisors for when he needed them.

Suspect the NABD might be your best place to start.

When I went for my CBT my instructor was telling me of someone who was wheelchair bound and had a trike built and his wheelchair mounted into it.

He said he was instructing him on how to ride but as the wheelchair wasn't fastened it'd move as he accelerated or braked.

They were sending the trike away for modifications before further training could begin as it wasn't safe. Closest I know of it

its been talked about by a few of us paraplegics over here
i think the roads over here aint good enough for it
just think the first set of lights and a nice big pot hole game over and cant take the wheelchair with you
but what a tool for track days
has he though about a bike trike ? its not the same as riding a bike but its a whole lota fun

It was just found for thought really as I might be working for a guy who I think was recently paralysed. Would be nice to have a few things to talk about if the comversation goes to bikes.
