You do know that they drink lots and lots of fuel and require regular rebuilds don't you?

They are quality nutter bikes. If you ride a NSR125, forget what you think you know if you are going to buy the bike. It will be completely different.

I reckon you may even poo yourself.

Expect about 45bhp, great handling let down by older style tyres (limited choice). Probably 20-35mpg depending on how hard you caine it.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

If they're anywhere near the Aprilia Rs250 for performance then they are much quicker than a GS500E - alot lighter and a 2 stroke power curve will mean alot more fun too, plus it will no doubt have better setup suspension (despite the age) aswell as stopping power and when needa400 says:

He's spot on! I jumped from a Mito to an Rs250 and though the 2 are similar in many ways, the extra power makes it completely different to ride.

Hi

Quite an old bike. Somewhere I have a road test of that model from about 1987 or 1988. From memory they were better than the original TZR that was imported, but not vastly better. An RGV would probably be a better bike.

Fuel consumption would be horrendous.

All the best

Keith

Due to the general drifting off the first pageness of this thread, I take it that I am the only one who thinks that back end is ugly?

With 45hp they are probably going to be about the same: less weight. They are gonna be better 'handling' as such, but worse for riding comfort.
You will also have to work for the power you do get; but more rewarding when you do get it right.

The handling for a bike of this age is fantastic it just takes you through any corners at any speed.

Above, a quote from the Ebay auction. I would like to test his theory, or more likely for him to prove it to me!
