I have.

They have a mates Fazer atm after he got hit flitering.

The funny thing is he was doing about 10-15mph and bounced off the car before just falling over, not really a collision as such, but they reckon it's £2000 of damage.

It could be that much, but I have no idea why he needs a new subframe... I'm no expert on bikes, but I would imagine the subframe would need significant force to break. I am dubious, I looked at the quotation which listed all sorts of stuff, even tho he had R&Gs you would think he hit the car head on at 60mph by the list....

You don't have a choice when it's insurance. They can charge a lot because insurance companies are not going to question it.

did I forget to mention they charge £18 per day storage and have had it over 1 year... maths isn't my strong point but...

My Fazer got knocked off the sidestand a few years back, and I was quoted around £1000 to replace everything back to factory-fresh, so £2000 isn't that surprising - although a lot of it is probably stuff you wouldn't bother fixing if you were doing it yourself.

Depending on how good their damage assessor is will change the quote vastly.

The garage are there to restore the bike back to precrash on the parts agreed by the assessor and client aka you.
Things like little scratches on adjacent panels and such and paint missing on levers etc usually involve brand new ones insted of painting.
