Got a jig and some welding skills? Seems a lot of effort, to fit a pretty similar looking fuel tank...

As has been said the gs500 has a frame of which wont accept an older style 'spine' tank.

There are alternatives available however theyre very limited, i believe the new model gs500 tank fits direct, as well as the hyosung gt125 tank, however im nto 100% sure of that second one.

It would be aLOT of effort to make one fit. Most older frames sit on a single bar that goes down the middle. Whereas the GS frame has two bars around the outside.

Cutting and welding it is a possibility. But I suspect you would weaken the frame severely unless you know what you're doing.
But it's a lot of work to do something rather minor.

Bare in mind the seat also wouldn't fit then. Lots of modding just to fit a similar fuel tank.

Like a blunt pencil. Pointless.
