I was jealous of this person, cos I had to cycle to school still. Laughing I wasn't 16 yet. The little trials bike next to him was owned by another friend of mine, and could do 1,000miles an hour, with it's mythical big bore kit, and noisy exahust.

Actually the kid in the crash helmet, I'm fairly sure that is a Puch Maxi, went on to pass his test on his 17th birthday, cos his dad was an instructor. Thumbs Up

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I was riding around on my first GPz750 during the day and taking car driving lessons in the evenings. Used to get told off for doing lifesavers by the driving instructor.

I'd just taken delivery of my first bike with gears.

Three of them. Though the chain always fell off in second. Neutral

I'd have been very jealous. It was second on my 'try and persuade gran to buy next' list, topped only by a Saab 900 turbo.

She bought a Golf GL. It had seatbelts in the back and everything. Cool

Have you seen the new Scirocco? Sexy

I'd even have an '80s one again but would be the Storm for choice if you could find a good one. Thumbs Up

Yeah, the new one is quite porno. But somehow just not quite as cool.

Nearly bought an old one on ebay about 5 years ago until a fit of sensibleness overwhelmed me and I bought a diesel golf instead (was commuting 250 miles a week at the time).

The Corrado was more my object of lust by the time I was old enough to actually drive. Laughing There was a black H reg one always parked on my walk to work, damn I wanted that car. Embarassed

I'd always wanted a Subaru Impreza until I took one out for a test drive last Sunday, even though it handles a dream and goes as fast as I expected it almost shook all my fillings out.

I couldn't live with it day to day (like my comfort now)

But with a full new s/s exhaust, sony mp4 on a '98 plate for £1750

My mate who came with me to see it bought it just to make a quick profit, the guy's moving off the island and has a jet ski with a £400 engine overhaul for sale @ £400.

You get used to it, but then I used to have a Mk2 MR2 so wasn't a stranger to pothole pain.

Was 19 that summer but on an MBX125 as well. Allspeed exhaust and S&B filter with Ledar jet kit. Full git kit.

Other than that it was a truly crap year.

All the best

Keith
