I Have been riding a restricted 50 for a few weeks now, Its a 50 You cant expect it to fly. In my Opinion

Use a Restricted 50 Until your 17 In case of insurance claims.

Then buy a 125 like a CBR, YBR or a CG And use them as a stepping stone onto bigger bikes Exceeding 70 mph :0

Or Do what I'm doing
Use your Restricted 50 Until your 17, In the mean time do your Theory test. Then do your A2 When you turn 17, Get a Bigger bike like a 400-600 Get it restricted the 33BHP and Piss over your 17 year old friends still on scooters. I'm 16 and i have just put a deposit on a Kawasaki ZX4R 400 In 2 months When i'm 17, I can then ride it after my A2 <3

Technically if it's pre 1977 and has means of pedal propulsion (which must be present) then it's still a 'ped rather than a motorcycle. The criteria of the 30mph design speed only applies to mopeds built after 1977.

You could also use a simillar cheat to ride a 125 that made more than 12bhp by buying a pre 1982 bike, hence the popularity of things like the RD125 twin, CB125T etc.
