I am spending all day tomorrow touring the bike shops and picking my new bike. Not quite decided yet, going to re-visit the bikes I seen a couple of weeks ago.

Well done Thumbs Up

How long where you riding for on the test, any tips you can give now you've done it i've got mine to do in a month.

Are you going to get a new or used bike, i've got an eight year old cb500 to get used to riding for twelve months after i pass then look for something like bandit 1200 or a big supermoto.

Thanks all.

My two minors were something to do with steering then cutting a junction which I knew I had done, just nerves than not seeing it.

Best advice for me was just to ride normally and plan ahead.

I failed a mock test on Tuesday so my nerves were so up there today but once I settled after getting the uturn and estop out of the way I kept a cool head.

The 3 before me failed but I just made sure that in my head this was all about me and my test not theirs.

Oh never mentioned the best bit about the test. Now the nerves are going I am remembering it Very Happy

Coming up towards Brahead Shopping Centre, big roundabout with exits in every direction, traffic light controlled.

Came up to the red light and stopped. Lights changed, did obs then moved off, quick glance to the right and here comes a car straight through the red light Shocked towards me but braking and skidding. I had to make a decision and that was to accelerate out of danger so I hit the throttle and off I went listening to horns blazing etc...

Examiner said that although by accelerating away I broke the speed limit I had limited choices, had I picked the option of stopping I would have failed! So my choice was correct.

Well done mate, told you it was a breeze, right? Although, it did seem to be a bit of a war zone out there when you went for your ride. Great feeling isn't it, what sort of bike are you after, sports 600, 500 twin? I've probably learned more about riding in the short time i've had my GS than I did in all my training and 125 riding, the world's a different place at 90mph on a bike Thumbs Up .

Guess were on for that meet, next summer?

Strangely my examiner told me to be careful while pulling out of a junction onto a freshly dressed road, and then while approaching a 'T' junction he more or less told me not to indicate left until we'd passed a side road to the left. Helpful chap, sure they're not supposed to do that though Cool .

Absolutely Thumbs Up

Not really sure what I am going for, want to get something that will last me and not get fed up with. Seriously contemplating a nice Bandit 1200 I have seen.

Before anyone goes Shocked or Confused or Surprised I have good reason but still to high on post test nerves to explain Mr. Green

Well done.

Nothing wrong with a Bandit 1200. Only 1 insurance group higher than the 600 but bags more torque Thumbs Up

Also a bit late but well done Lee. It's quite a relief, then you wonder what all the fuss was about.

Afterwards you do certainly wonder what all the fuss was about but of course try convincing yourself of that before you have done it.

You cant take away the nerves, but I now know from experience that its more in the head than anything. Drive confidently, make your obs clear, plan ahead and dont panic if you appear to do something wrong, just move on to the next bit Thumbs Up
