Is it possible to buy the Arcade version but still play the rest of the consoles games?

What is the difference the HD?

Could you link it to a external HD designed for COMPUTAAA?

Cheers,

Jack Thumbs Up

The Arcade doesn't have the inbuilt hard drive which is not necessarily a problem. To save games you need to use the memory card supplied - or extra memory cards. However, they don't hold a huge amount (and some of the games require the hard drive to save games).

You can technically use an external USB hard drive, however, this won't work for everything (and can be a little inconvenient). If you want to use the original XBox games, you need the hard drive to store the updates.

You can buy the hard drive separately (though it's expensive). Cash Convertors and the like will usually do a second hand 120GB drive for about £60. That said, its definitely worth the little extra to get the standard edition. That said - every time I use my 360 I kind of wish I'd spend the extra £50 and bought the Elite edition... Sad

Just buy a PS3 tbh...

I have this out with my boss at work every week. I've had so many consoles over the years it's crazy. I picked the 360 for so many reasons - not least that it is the system preferred by the games developers. If they prefer it (the 360 is much easier as a development platform - which is why when you see cross platform games they have been developed for the 360 and ported to the PS3) I figure that is the way to go.

Something else I've noticed, if you look at the games, most of the PS3 games only run natively at 720p HiDef where as XBox games run at 1080p or 1080i (user's choice).

Finally, because of issues with developing on the powerful but incredibly complex 'Cell' processor - most games suffer slowness issues. Which is why games such as Assassin's Creed and Alone in the Dark were delayed (the developer's had trouble getting the frame rates up to an acceptable level).

That said - PS3 will have Gran Turismo and the 360 never will... Crying or Very sad Oh well, Forza 2 is good! Razz
