Hiya all,

Have just returned from venturing into Cornwall for a quick blast as I've not been on the R6 for a while.

Anyway, on my way back I came across a wicked roundabout where you can see every junction, as I saw there was no traffic I decided to have a quick go at getting my knee down.

Only went round once but was quite chuffed with the ammount of lean I got out of the bike and the line that I took. I didnt however get my knee down, however I did get my right toe down haha, which I wasnt expecting! Very Happy

Does this mean that I was close to the angle required to get me knee down or does it mean I had it, but my body positioning was wrong?

Many thanks.
Cougs.

Toe down isn't always that good. It might mean your foot is well off the peg.

I lean my R6 over a little bit, can get my knee down but have never got my toe down yet.

With the ZXR, the only time my toe went down was when my knee/peg/exhaust was scraping so make sure your foot is WELL back on the peg..

Nice one though Thumbs Up Mr. Green

My g/f's motorbike boots have got removable toe and calf sliders! Shocked

Not really sure if she needs them as a pillion on my bike.

Do you ride with the balls of your feet on the pegs? If you rest the arches of your feet on the pegs then I'd expect the toes to go down before anything else tbh.

You must be well over then. Lean off a bit and stick your knee out and it should be well and truly on the ground.

Luke mentioned that I lean my bike over a bit too far compared to how much I hang off when we was at boxhill Sunday, and I wasn't getting my pegs down, so you must be wellllllll over. Very Happy

Cougar,
Just make sure you aren't twisting foot out as you lean over, could turn nasty.Peg should really be scraping before anything else, especially with hero blobs on it.

Nice one though! Thumbs Up

Depends how you're keeping your feet on the pegs too though. Smile If I have the peg in the groove of my boot then I can get my toes down round bends...! But usually I ride with my toes right on the pegs, so the peg hits the ground first! Which it sometimes does Shocked

I had that problem when I was trying to GMKD as well. Although I think part of my problem is that I'm riding in Para boots that are about a foot wide, rather than narrow bike boots.

Stick your toes pointing inwards, makes your knee go out easier. I've got just the tips of my toes on the pegs as the blades pegs are only short.

And if you get your peg down you need to hang off more!

Heheh al, depends how the pegs are on one, I can't say I've had a close look at the riding position on the Max. Is it more like a chopper with your feet forward? On a CB you're more upright but feet aren't forwards so it's not hard to get the pegs down..

Hmm I've heard a V-Max doesn't turn very well, so you might find it a bit awkward. One of my mates wants one really badly so I hear all sorts of things about them from him.
