Had the Kymco for 8 weeks 2 days Mr. Green

If I had known I would be through my test this quick would never have bought it, that said it was a great bike and probably the main reason I got through my test. If I had the cash I would have kept it.

Paid £2,300 for the CBR, however that was from a dealer and I took a 1 year parts and labour warranty which shoved the price up. I am a complete non mechanical person so that was the best option for me.

Private, same condition and miles they are about £1,500 maybe a bit more.

So even it out, add on dealers cut and warranty, its not bad.

The bike is in fantastic condition though, hardly a mark on it.

Well lets just say it was not hard on the test run to break the speed limit on it and I did Mr. Green

I spotted 3 bikes to go test ride today.

CBR600F - first bike out, loved it right away, nice acceleration, smotth ride overall and very easy to control. Power in abundance, way more than I will ever need.

VTR1000 - V twin, lots of power, nothing special, very cluncky, was not impressed at all. It felt like a very rough bike yet it was the newest of the 3 tested, but I am sure someone will come along and blame my inexperience for these comments of it. But thats just what I felt and its all that counts when I am buying.

Bandit1200 - Nice bike, great power, looks much better naked than the S which has a short fairing. Simply put I just really felt it was not for me.

I just felt that the bigger bikes were just that and nothing of particular interest that made me think I wanted them.

So there you go was planning on a much bigger bike but liked the smaller one Smile

Haha! Give it a few months and you'll be thinking, "Hmm, I really could do with a little bit more."

Nice bike. Have fun. Thumbs Up

Nice bike & congrats on passing your test Mr. Green BUT you should definitely learn how to get your hands dirty! Get a Haynes, start with simple jobs like oil change & gradually build a bit of confidence with working on the bike, bikes need looking after & react badly to neglect & it costs serious £££`s to keep taking it to a pro + you get great satisfaction knowing you did it yourself.

enjoy the bike Thumbs Up

No dont think so. As I said I was going to go for a much bigger bike and took others out for a test drive, its not all about the power, for me anyway.

Yup, already sourced a Haynes manual and going to get it this afternoon so I can look through. As you say, more statisfaction doing it yourself and obviously cheaper.

I only wanted the warranty in case something more serious went wrong and had the comfort of knowing something way out of my depth was covered.

Nice bike Lee Thumbs Up

CBR 600 is one of the ones on my list to take a look at when I pass my test along with YZF Thundercat, R6, ZX6R/ZX636R, Hornet 600 and GSXR600/750. I've sen a nice looking CBR that I'm keeping my eye on Wink

Sweet bike, clean too Thumbs Up .

Don't like the sportsbikes myself, feet on rear indicators, bum up in air, not for me, I like a naked bike, I like to see the engine, I am Mr retro Cool .

The sportsbikes are the most popular though and do look great, but don't look at home on a road, more of a racer than an everyday motorcycle. But i'm clearly in a minority.

I was not interested in the sports bike either, was looking forward to a nice naked bandit or the like. But against my better judgement I gave it a go and hey presto, loved it.

Its a real bum in the air bike, quite comfortable in a fairly upright sitting position. Although the benefit is when it gets really windy a quite small lowering of the body down towards the double bubble and its very pleasant.

I am kinda old and good looking too so its a good match.

Its fine for me and thats all that matters, I was very close to buying a new one, but I thought that 7 grand is better gathering interest in my bank account than sitting in the garage Thumbs Up Mr. Green
