Hi sorry if this a bit off point but its slightly related and i need a little help. I've got a yamaha R125 YZF (as my first bike so no very little about them) I've done just under 2000 miles on it but was ridding them other day and was told i had whats called a "high speed seize". At the time it had a non standard exaust on it, the air box had also been changed if i get the STANDARD parts refitted do you think yamaha will fix it for free?

Just be very careful putting them back on just right, if they notice a difference they have every right to tell you to go home.

And next time, make sure you know what you're doing before fiddling Razz

If you have seized it, being such a new bike and being a 4 stroke.....sounds like you need to be reminded that they require oil.

Either that or you have done a half_lyfe and you just wheely it everywhere and you have seized it Very Happy

Now has it been serviced in that 2K miles you have done ?

I'm taking it you bought it new from a dealer.

Something must be very wrong for a 4T to seize.

Put it back to standard and take it back to the dealer. If they don't fix it then don't kick up too much of a fuss, because it sounds like you destroyed your own bike there.

Next time, if you want to mod a bike, find out how to do it properly. You can't simply just bolt stuff on to make it run better - especially on a fuel injected bike. I bet that your ill advised airbox and exhaust mods made the bike run super lean. You need some kind of fuelling mod to make it work like a power commander or whatever the R125 equivalent is.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
