You'd be better off just paying a courier service to pick it up mate, thats a fair old distance.

I can't physically ride a bike so i can't but...

Are you going to pay for insurance for someone to ride it back and don't you still have a provisional license?

The temptation to take it for a quick ride around the block would overcome you and you will go for a ride, on a full powered r6 going from a 50cc. Not a good idea i don't think, also it would be sods law you will get nicked.

Why not just wait until you have passed your test? Bike prices will only get cheaper as people will be more desperate to sell (with the current economy) and because winter is coming up fairly soon.

Christ i wouldn't even go to preston to buy a bike and i live 10 miles south of leeds.

Surely you can get a similar bike, similar price nearer you?

Bearing in mind it would cost you £45/£50 ish in fuel to get it back, even worse if you have a pillion.

And it seems even crazier going that far for a bike considering you don't even have a license.

I can highly recommend Alpha Couriers - found them on Ebay and had them shift my new bike from Coventry to Anglesey for 90 quid. Really nice people to deal with and put up with the seller being a pain in the arse re. collecting it.

Their website's here:

Best off to give him a ring - first quoted me 120, but we negotiated down to 90.

Just thought I'd point out my home (when not at uni) is 20mins ride away from Preston. If people asked I'd tell them I was from Preston.

Is it restricted? Yet and erm, any idea on insurance?

Blimey I read that as London - Portsmouth for some reason, Fnatic, my offer is still open if its gonna be a one day thing, up for an early train to preston and then blast back to london.

250 miles with someone else paying the petrol, good little ride it could be...
