For those work work/worked as a bar man in night clubs.

Those how know of the shitty hours that you have to work, till early morning, being paid shit money for it and adding to the amount of people you have to serve in a short time, with their lack of drink knowledge (as in what the fuck they're drinking Rolling Eyes), with lack of patience, with the people who think they should always be served first and the people who shout and wave money at you to get served.

And especially to those who can't get enough of it Laughing

Been working as a bar man for just over a year now, and I haven't looked back. Worked in 2 places. First place called The Pad which was out of town and quite small and rubbish and expensive with a manager who didn't really know what he was doing but I still had fun. Agony and extremely stressful when I first started, but after a few weeks I was having the time of my life. Boosted my confidence no end (stupid amount really...) and I sometimes even prefer working at a club then going out to a club Confused

Obviously, thanks to this trade I can no longer sleep before 1AM and considering I have work at 6AM (less than 4 hours) I'm pretty fucked Laughing

Just thought with the crazy experiences I've had with customers and flirting with all the girls and even being chatted up by guys that it'd be interesting to read other peoples stories form before or recent.

Also, I'm the kind of bar tender that won't serve his friends, but rather the people who have been waiting longest. Well I do my best to do so and I've been approached by several people at random points during the night and been told that "You're by far the bets bar tender here". Managers keep saying they hear good things about me all the time as well Mr. Green

And my friend gets annoyed and calls me a bastard because I get hit on more often than he does Laughing

Also realised earlier today, that with Chicago's (Aylesbury) I have to work Christmas eve and New Years Eve without question. Don't mind New Years eve so much as I did at The Pad last year and I had so much frigging fun. It was actually amazing. Also got paid £160 with a £15 bonus on top. Not to mention the £40quid in tips and 26 drinks bought for me (including a £45 bottle of champagne!) Christmas Eve should be interesting, and I will be turning up to work on my biker Santa Suit. Cool

Any other bar tender insonmniacs? Laughing

My mate was abar tender he was an arsehole. He used to work in a place called The Atrium in Portsmouth it was a second floor place and had a really narrow spiral staircase to get to it. I turned up there half cut to have a few beers, I had 3 felt really pissed and fell down the stairs Laughing

Turned out he sunk a double vodka in to each of my pints, fucker Laughing

Yeah it was cool the place was usually empty so I would go up there buy one pint which magically seem to be topped up when I wasn't looking. Laughing

Being a barman is my second job, my first one being taxman Wink
But i love doing bar work, its good craic, you get to chat all the lasses up, i work two different types of bar though, one private members club and one night club, i find that at the private members club i tend to serve the people that are next in line as thats the way it should be.

But when i work at the night club i tend not to serve fellas and i serve all the fit lasses first and also the mates and regulars that you get to know.

I will be working this new years eve and crimbo eve. But as a taxman, which means i will be down on the drink instead.

I've worked as a sound engineer in clubs and had to regularly tell people to bugger off after they tried using my mixing console to construct and snort a line of white powder. Rolling Eyes It's great making money whilst being in one of these places rather than spending it though. Thumbs Up

As shit as the money is, I really loved being barstaff, the poon is fantastic, I shagged 4 out of the 6 girls I used to work with at my nightclub, Mosaic in Exeter and plenty of customers have got it when I got to finish a shift early. Does fuck up your sleeping pattern majorly though.

I find marijuana solves this problem, I get stoned, I sleep, sorted Thumbs Up Laughing Looking forward to swapping stories at the minimoto Molly Razz

I never said I did. It's the only picture I have of me with the santa suit. It's my friend 6RR. He's got a new paint job on it.

Yeh mate, paid my deposit to G yesterday...or the day before, I'm not sure haha. Looking forward to it man.

Clothes off mid floor?! Jesus good effort. I've had head whilst being sat on top of a Kroenenberg barrel though Razz

Pray tell, what is this other substance you talk off, you must share!

Your mates RR is sick as well, i'm a sucker for such detailed flames and in blue no less. Needs the wheels powdercoated blue or fluro orange to complete it though!

m0l0t0v, how quickly do you get used to barwork, like the hours and remembering drinks etc, just that I want to do it as a weekend job next year so I have some experience before I go and do it abroad for a season.
And the paintjob on that cbr looks fucking amazing!

I'll try and get better pictures sometime soon when he ventures out from the garage Laughing

And bar work... completely and utterly 100% it took me a few weeks but to remember the basics it only took a few days. I was chucked in the deep end though. Did my first night serving 250 people on my own on a small bar knowing next to nothing (barely drunk any alcohol at that point).

I know so many cocktails and shooters now.

Most places would put you on a mid busy night where you don't have to properly rush around but busy enough to keep you on your feet but still have loads of fun. Just be really chatty and friendly and get used to people insulting you.

Had one guy threatening to hit me if I didn't serve this girl after him. I just laughed t him several times and he kept saying "nah mate I'm serious yeah?!"

Served him his pint, told him it was £2.30, gave me 3 quid and told me to keep the change. What a punch that was. Right in the nuts Laughing I served the girl afterwards anyways cause she was cute and there was no one else to serve Laughing

Hours wise it was never an issue for me as I always slept late but I usually finish at around 4AM after starting at 9-10pm. You don't really have to remember drinks either and even if you don't know them just ask a colleague (and they would be more than happy to help) OR you can look at the menu yourself and it usually has the ingredients (but not the ratios which is the important part)

The thing I love most about barwork is the banter. Meeting new people every night, getting on with the regulars and the pure cheesey lines people use. And when I say people I mean guys and girls. I get guys hitting on me quite often Laughing Including one of my managers friend's who said it's a waste that I'm straight cause I'm really sexy Cool

Had one girl come up to me (with her 4 mates behind her) and asked me "can you.... could... *bites lips* could you give me a screaming orgasm?" *looks up and down*

"I'll do my best" Wink Friends went ape shit and I got something good in return Laughing Wink

Oh and quacker, the drug is giving and taking Wink At the same time Laughing Bit of an exercise at times. Good for the pelvic muscles I hear Shifty

One thing that makes it amazing for me is the people that say I'm the best bar man in Chicago's Cool I also make more money than everyone else like 95% of the time Laughing

Monday nights (like tonight) is student night. Basically when all the totty comes out Drooling And there's always 4 different groups of girls that say I am their main attraction to Chicago's Laughing When guys are chatting them up by the bar and I walk past serving some other Customers they shout my name, grab me and give me a kiss on the cheek and completely ignore the guys.

Not many guys like me unfortunately, except the ones that say I'm awesome Mr. Green

I get such a high of barwork. Try to look my best and smell my best too. Get good tips that way from the girlies Wink I'm not a sell out at all!

Quacker, I've got loads of stories to tell. We have to share some. Laughing I gave my deposit to G earlier today. Think one of my friends is going to be coming as well so should be good. Thumbs Up

You have no idea Laughing

Getting ready for Student night.

Working on the bar is like a paid night out for me. I dance, flirt, drink (at the end if I'm not riding obviously) get off AND get paid. Sometimes get tips.

Also, be wary. Some bars share tips which is total wank as some people work fuck all (like a couple at mine) and some places even tax you. Chicago's we keep 'em though Thumbs Up

And future advice, if someone asks if you want a drink either take it (obviously) or take the money in change. Depending if you're thirsty or not. Have a bottle of water/red bull/something cold to drink. Most places are fine with you drinking as you need to keep yourself hydrated and energetic. Thumbs Up

Take the money instead then fool Wink

Monday night (last night for me) had 2 girls. Laughing Only a couple of things happened but I also got 6 quid in tips. From the one girl who said at the end "if I can't get a taxi home you better give me a ride home" with a wink.

Told her it's fine as long as she isn't scared on getting on the back of a motorbike. Face was just like Shocked "not in this state!"

But as of today I have to behave now. Few hours ago I ended up with a girlfriend so no longer single...

It was an awesome few months though Laughing

Things will still happen but I have to draw a line now.

Ah well, it's all good Wink Thumbs Up

I've just remembered the best thing my friend ever said. Quite possibly the best reply of all man kind! He stopped working now because of Uni but he was truly a legend.

I was on the floor, collecting glasses (for once) and he does that all the time. We were talking as it was a quiet night and we had quite literally collected everything. Girl comes up to him and says to him:

"You make me so wet"

And I kid you not, he just looks at her with a bored face and asks:

"Do you want a towel or something?" Neutral

And walks away. I pissed myself laughing, the look on her face was second worthy. I had to go the staff room and re collect myself. 2 managers came in and started telling me off and asked why I was there. Told them what happened and they pissed themselves laughing. End of the night the managers congratulated him!

Very jealous dude, I'd love to do this as a second job.

I always get mistaken for bouncers though (6'2 shaven head etc), and have been offered a job on the doors several times, but I have zero interest in beating people up...

Sounds like a blast Thumbs Up

We took 4.3k. We are simply awesome. We're getting a prize/bonus because nobody has achieved it!

Soo many more stories Laughing

I'm a barman at the minute, been doing it all summer and I fucking love it, good times can be, and are, had.

Will definitely share some of the tales when it's not ten to five in the morning, and I've had more than 8 hours sleep in three days.

Night all.
