Hi, i'm wondering if anyone here could help, my brother-in-law died in a traffic accident over the weekend and i wanted to see if the police had released any details on the accident.

I seem to remember seeing a site run by the police that lists all accidents in an area with whatever information they might have.

If anyone could help me find this i would really appreciate it.

RIP Ernie, wont forget ya. Sad

Sorry to hear that.

My first port of call would be the police, you could ask them for information, although it may take time for them to release anything. (they'd want time to collate all the information).

Sorry to hear that, I wouldn't have thought there would be much available information at the moment, just what had been in the papers. They take a while to look into these things and find out what and why the accident happened.

I've seen it on a couple of the regional police websites, but they don't give much detail just the time of call out and what the nature of it is.

Not sure on the details you are after but maybe worth trying the Local Fire Brigade website the info from my accident is still on there from 2 years ago. Not much detail though . . . .Clicky. . . The one your after may say more.

The Police will not release any details until such time as the next of kin have been informed and the bodies formally identified.

A fatal is dealt with differently to a normal injury or damage only, and once the formalities have been dealt with then some details will be released.

This is one type of crash where the Police still do a full investigation and specialists get involved such as AI, Vehicle examiner, Coroners Officer etc, etc, and the investigating officer will be struck off the rosta for the first 7 days to get those initial important enquiries completed.

The full information will not be available until the inquest.
