So my mum has just bought a bike. No MOT or tax as of yet but my dad recons its in pretty good condition. Its a Kawaski KH 125. So seems none of us (family) have been out on the bike or have never been on that model I was just wondering how does it handle, accelerate, and what problems are likley if any?? thanks Karl. |

clicky no workey either
Watch out for snapping kickstart shafts.
Seems to be an bit of an endemic problem on the old KH125 so dont get too carried away.
Might be a good idea to check the oil pump system if its been standing a-while, may need bleeding or sometimes the 2t oil sorta "jellyfies" in the pipes after too long.
Im sure mother could do without a seizure...
Hope this helps.

If it's an early model they weren't restricted to 12hp and were quite nippy. Spindly forks though (in true KH style). ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

No such 125 will ever accellerate or handle with any degree of fanfare.
What it will do is give her a scare free insight into biking and is so simple it probably will never die.

Unlike slap-pop-karl, who is incredibly simple and therefore probably will die. ____________________ Don't practice it until you get it right, practice it until you don't get it wrong.

You should info in the workshop section on the KH125 and a Show and tell of how to do a top end rebuild on it.
I bought my KH125 for £360 with 9000miles and it had a few problems. it was my first bike and was awesome fun.
Shortly after the rebuild some chavs nicked it, a couple of days after i bought my NS125 (which was even more fun)
VINCENT on this forum was kind enough to give me the original owners manual. so if your mum wants it PM me and she can have it for free (well the cost of a SAE) ____________________ Motorcycle headlight bulbs and HIDs
