A thought on cleaning

Ok, well I have the burnt look on my exhaust and have nor the time or patience to use autosol. So one day at work I was thinking of easier way to do this job.

Now bear in mind that I am a fabricator but also have access to tinners tools. And the 1st thing that sprang to mind was the electric pickling machine that we have for cleaning stainless steel.

I works by using a electrolyte acid that lifts of the stains when electrified. We mainly use it for getting rid of the bluing on our jobs. Now my questions are:-

would it work?
And would it fuck up my exhaust?

I'm just wondering if it will fuck up my exhaust, by just generally rusting it to shit or making it go yellow permamently

Is your exhaust stainless? Mild steel? Carbon fibre?

As said can you just chuck a bit of the same material in and see what happens. Only general problem I could foresee is that any protective coating would lift off but cant see any problems with exhausts.
