Hurrah. I like the way these 'non-lethal' weapons are being critcised. Can't become passive about their use like in amerika. Thumbs Up

Start shooting criminals with a 9mm instead then, see how long before they ask for Tasers back.

Its not the weapon thats the problem rather the training.

If you give someone a lethal weapon they make sure its the absolute last resort before they use it. where as if you give someone a NON lethal weapon they become trigger happy.

I'm convinced if tazers has been introduced as less lethal weapons they would not be used so willy nilly.[/b]

Seriously, i've had a good dose of CS gas, it's bleeding horrible. You choke, snot out of your eyes, and spew!

It shouldn't be dished out willy nilly, but if a little pillock is giving the old plod grief then they should get a bit. Might knock a few of the little bugger straight again!

Well we already know anyone with a heart condition or a pacemaker could die as a result of one, even just the shock can and has killed an otherwise healthy person. I doubt they pull up everyone's medical records before pulling the trigger either, so it is indeed a potentially lethal weapon, but it still beats a gun so if you don't want to end up getting tazered don't give them a reason to use it.

You right of course, but if being asleep on your own sofa when you house alarm goes off is enough of a reason to get tasered it sounds like they dont need much of a reason.
