Your not lucky, thats the way it works with pre ordering. Stuff should arrive on the release date give or take a day or two. Unless you use HMV, in which case it turns up over a week after the release date. Had the same problem with gameplay.co.uk as well. Game.com seem to do it properly though.

if you get this excited about a game thats the same as all the others, you must have severe premature ejaculation problems.

Strange isn't it. Cannot believe he's got so excited about Fifa, when he plays Pro Evo and should know how superior it is. Fifa sucks on gameplay imo. Maybe he'll burst when Pro Evo comes.

Enjoy it mate Thumbs Up

Yes, so he can play Metal Gear Solid, Resistance and what may as well be a demo of Gran Turismo... Neutral

I'm not being biased by the way, I own both but what a colossal joke the PS3 is at the moment, I guess it's being reflected in it's piss poor sales. Rolling Eyes

If all else fails, at least I can still use the thing for watching Blu Ray.

That was purely put up as bait. Laughing I was hoping for more of a fan boy style outburst though. Very Happy

I started playing metal gear properly last week (now I've got a sound system on the tv) and it's an amazing game once you get in to it. For the first time in ages I'm spending a horrendous amount of time playing a computer game, for me the PS3 was worth it just for that game.

Just done the bit where you're on the back of the motorbike, then it was 1am and I had to go bed.

To be fair though I'm way 'out of the games scene' so I don't really know what games are worth buying on PS3 or 360, nothing rarely seems to be a must buy these days, which is a shame because there seemed to be an amazing game every few months once upon a time.

So, now that the Wii along with PES (which is superior to FIFA by a Johnny Metgod Free Kick), Super Mario Galaxy and Fit has reached the end of its' under the TV shelf life in the H household which console comes with the BCF seal of approval - XBox 360 or PS3?

Oh and I don't want any responses from any of you '...out of the games scene' rubber-heads Wink

PS3, has to be. The 360 will shit itsself and die(RROD) guarenteed.

Although the PS3 has fewer exclusives, the majority of games are across both formats in any case.

The 360 is a good console, just the reliability issues swing it for me.

The RROD isnt as bad as it used to be, my current console has lasted ages!! XBOX live is good on its day (been weird recently) and for the price Id go for it over the PS3. Maybe a PS3 in another year fi they get their act together, unless theres some announcement about the next offering from MS.

I wouldnt pay all that cash for a PS3 because it has bluray though. Not when standalone players can be picked up for £150. Im not even going to start at why you shouldnt pay £20 for a disc yet either!! Laughing

Oi, I'm a casual gamer and proud!

I've owned a 360 and a PS3 and for me the PS3 is a lot more appealing, it has blu ray and I don't have to pay to play games online, I know xbox live isn't expspensive but I rarely bother to play online so being able to do it every so often for free is a big bonus.

The 360 has just dropped massively in price though so if you don't care about metal gear or paying to play online I'd be tempted by that. However if you want to download a lot on to it then the PS3's hard drive can be upgraded a lot cheaper.

Thanks for the responses Gents, looks like the 360 is favourite at the moment purely on price and a few comparison reviews I've seen for games on both consoles - I'm certainly no geeky gamer so I'm sure the 360 will suffice (let's face it anything beats the Wii for serious gameplay/graphics - wish I'd never chopped the PS2 in now!).

Much appreciated Thumbs Up

Personally I rate the 360 (hence ending up with one), tried the PS3 and didn't get on with it really. Main thing that means I keep using the 360 is how suitable it is for both wasting half an hour (Uno, Boogie bunnies, Shoji for example) or spending an entire night glued to the screen and gaming (Lost Oddessy, Overlord etc). I can't really speak for the PS3 online capability now, but Live is most impressive. Driving games take on a whole new dimension when you can race something other than a crudely written AI.

A decent standalone blu-ray plater is going on £300+ though. A cheaper player won't have updatable firmware etc.

I'd say the ps3 personally, i had a very first 360 and never had the RROD (and i had it for a while) but i just prefer the gameplay of the ps3, and the blu-ray is a bonus Razz

https://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3468512/Samsung-BD-P1400-XEU-Blu-ray-High-Definition-Player/Product.html

£149 quid delivered, 1080p, upgradable firmware. Not bad for the price really. It is bottom end of the market but still saves you going out and spending double that on a PS3 'because its also handy' thats the pont I was making Wink
