Expensive Quote for Insurance for a 125cc?

Hi guys.

Just trying to insure my CG125.

Some of the quotes i keep getting seem to be quite steep - £250 and upwards or some are cheaper but have high excess premiums.

Is it worth doing TPFT or going fully comp? a few of the insurance companies have tried to get me to go TPFT after they have quoted me for fully comp.

I have tried Bennetts, Swinton, and so on.

I have also tried H&R, their policy is the cheapest but their excess is £500.

I have a full car licence, CBT, 4 years no claims car insurance, no endorsements, and so on.

Any ideas guys or recommendations please?

Try tesco compare and stuff. Is that £250 with TPFT? Thats really good if your 17 and new to biking. Plus as far as I know your no claims on the car wont work on the bike. I'm sure thats how it works.

Ah right yeh the no claims doesnt work with the motorbike in that way which i thought it might.

If in doubt gocompare.com,£250 for insurance isn't that bad although maybe you should get it cheaper as you're 21

i'm 20, my ybr125 brand new TPFT is £273, had full cae license for 18months and no no claims (they don't carry over to bikes)

Nice friendly forum on here - i got slated on another forum the other day for asking some questions, i didnt realise we were all born with the ability to ride bikes and know everything about them in every way.

Not sure, but i did a test with full no claims(on car) and it was no different for my bike quote
