It's pretty annoying talking to people who think their ped will go 55mph restricted, I mean what the fk, this kid last night was trying to tell me his Suzuki Katana would go 55mph 'restricted' haha I doubt it would even go that fast de restricted right?

Some do, depends whats done to it.
My bike did report about 56 on the speedo so call it just under a realistic 49ish.
now it struggles to get to 50 lol.
but mines standard.

If it has a pipe and filter and bore kit and stuff like that its well possible.

Bikes breaking through the boundaries hey? Or are we just building more?

I think every 16 year old, 'ped-boi' or otherwise feels an unrelenting desire to overaggerate certain details to make them seem bigger and better. Remember being 'nearly 16' as opposed to 15?! I do.

That's just human nature and a stage in our development I would argue we ALL went through. I wouldn't say that makes them all twats.

Saying that, 55 on a restricted Katana? Twat. Laughing

I just think it's sad that the once great "Katana" name has sunk so low that not only is it applied to a ped, it's not even a very good ped Laughing

Sad

i am proud to have owned one of the fastest 125's, 90mph restricted, although the thing can't handle it though, i'd rather get a slow 600 4 stroke for my next bike then a 2 stroke 250 or 125. At least then the engine can handle the top end.

And NSR might hit 90-95 de-restricted....certainly won't restricted Laughing

Also, 2 strokes are very reliable if people like you don't get your hands on them.

They do require 2 stroke oil you know Rolling Eyes

Oh and if you can't stop a 125 smoker running, then you will probably get a conrod up your arse if you get a 600 4t. And what happened to getting an MX bike? Laughing

You could just take it all with a pich of salt and not worry about it.

I mean who doesn't exaggerate now and again: 150mph wheelies, knocking out 3 guys in a fight, 9 inch willys. Its perfectly natural to want to embelish a story.

At the end of the day, peds are still bikes (sort of), and their riders are just as obsessed with speed and talking about thier bikes as the rest of us. This should be commended in my opinion, it's setting them up nicely for a life of two-wheeled hoonery.

Don't really agree with putting down the ped fraternity all the time. If you find thier stories annoying, dont talk to them Smile

Restricted peds are restricted to 30mph. End of.

But why do all ped boys only ever talk about top speed ? I rekon its because peds are ... ugly, noisy, smelly, smoky, tiny and irritating .. ? So what else is there to talk about ? Im not dissing them though, i used to own one and at the time it was great, 'tarted' it up a bit, went cruising through town, £5 a week petrol Smile

Possibly, but I like to keep away from the people and behaviour that are the cause of that opinion.

I had to laugh yesterday whilst waiting for tyre to be fitted, the young 16 year old apprentice was telling me he was going very fast when he came off his Chinese bike on waste ground. Bless him, he wasn't trying to exaggerate, but he was going about 25mph in a straight line, flat out and wrote his bike off. Apparently, (according to him) he was lucky to still be alive!!
