Sorry, i got really really bored Laughing

Well since Jedi Knight became a religion why cant "motorcyclism" become one too?

There could be the four gods, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha, Heaven may as well be Japan since thats where the "gods" come from Laughing Hell could be China since thats where all the deathtrap bikes come from.

Suzuki might aswell have a son HYOSUNG since their success is largely down to Suzuki backing.

And once the whole religion side is sorted out the fun could begin...

...the amount of strings other religions can pull using the whole PC thing, itd only take a little imagination to use "motorcyclism" to an advantage.
An example:

Officer: why are you not wearing a helmet?
Motorcylismist: Its againts my religion to cover my head, it will anger the god Kawasaki.
Officer: Oh sorry (doesnt want to offend a religion for fear of the PC brigade)

It could happen Laughing

Now you see I have been contemplating this for a while myself.

If we have four gods, we need their earthly presence Jesus stylee. I was thinking maybe Rossi?

Also it would offend our "gods" if we had to remove our hemet when entering tesco or whilst refueling.

The 10 commandments of motorcyclism.

1. thou shalt use your motorcyle as thy god intended.
2. Tho shalt not covert thy neighbours bike.
3. Thou shalt not steal any bike
4. Thou shalt hounour thy mother and fathers bike
5. Thou shall only remove thy helmet upon the request of an officer of the law.

Go one, help me with the other 5

Kawasaki would have to more of an antichrist. People love and support Kawasaki, then for no reason he infects all of his children with bike cancer, and causes them to blow gaskets and throw rods for no reason whatsoever.

Also they must be born in the fires of hell, they run shit when its a bit cold.

Biking is a Cult not a religion.
As a Cult everyone can have a go at it because Cults are seen as evil.

What if people choose to be apart of some different religion involving other brands such as Ducati, Triumph, Aprilia and Mv Agusta?

Would this then become a rival religion meaning possible terrorist threats and the like?

Thinking I like this thread. Unless there is a commandment that mr_fisty missed then I dont see one for thou shalt not worship any other gods.
It could be like wiccan and worship many gods. Motorcycling is about choose and what you prefer so there for you get to choose your god and its exceptable unlike most religions. Thats what would make Motorcylism so good. Things like going to mass can be turned into going to a bike rally every weekend and recieving girfts from the gods like Kawasaki/honda/suzuki fleese's or whatever god you worship. have I rambled on again? Shifty

I am thinking that when he said rossi for Jesus.

I could think of a few others people would prefer like fogarty/lawson/rainy/schwantz (spelling?)

And even probably trevor nation as thats who I was taken to watch at 3 or 4 yrs old.

Would this be like the shite sunny mussies, or some of the others that kick shit out of eachother at every opportunity ?

Would be mayhem, JPS Nortons against Z1 lawson reps road rash style. Mr. Green

Thats easily solvable though...

People of BCF we are now "motorcyclismists" Laughing go ahead and write it on the next census, only one way to see what happens and thats to try it out Thumbs Up

Im assuming the majority of BCFers wouldnt affiliate themselfes with any particular religion, why not make it motorcyclism just for shits n giggles? I would seriously be intersted to see if it could be made a religion.

anybody with me? go on, you know you want to Laughing Laughing Laughing

What exactly is the difference between a cult and a religion, surely its only the number of followers and the power of that group, look at scientology the public think its a cult but the law says its a religion.

Right I know what's going on the Census then.

I'm tempted to change mine, but I still believe in coffee tables first and foremost.

It's a far more sensible idea than most religions I've come across though...

Our four star, who art in heaven.
Honda be thy name.
Thy speedtrap come
Thy will be done
On tarmac, as it is on dirttrack
Give us this day our daily hoon
And forgive us our filtering
As we forgive those who filter against us
And lead us not into collisions
But deliver us our spares
For thine is the king of the road, the powerband and the 2 stroke.
For revving and revving, aww man.

Today's sermon will be from the book of Haynes, Chapter 3, Verse 10, "Fault diagnosis, Ignition System".

1. And Ahole, who hath a CB100N that didst not start, spoke unto the Lord, "Oh lord, I hath petrol, the holy water of fire, and I hath compression, for there is resistance in the lever of kickstarting, but the bike doth have life". And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

2. The Lord, who once hadst a CB100N and kneweth what a buggere it couldst be when it wantedst to, said unto Ahole, "My son, hath thou checked thine plug gap? For it may be incorrect, or indeed whiskered. Thou shoudst adjust and clean, or perchance renew, so that ye may have clean running."

3. Ahole didst check his plug of sparking, and finding it to be clean, and well adjusted, said unto the Lord, "Father, the gap is good, and the electrodes bright, but still there is no life!". And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

4. The Lord replied, "Go forth and check thine points, for they may be dirty, or in need of adjustment."

5. Upon examining the points, Ahole didst indeed find they were dirty, and didst clean them, and yet, even after setting with the papers of Rizla, the bike still hath the hand of Death upon it. And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

6. "Lord!" exclaimed Ahole. "I hath checked the plug of sparking, and hath cleaned and set the points of contact, but still the bike hath no life!"

7. The Lord, who really just wanted to get back to cleaning his '98 R1, replied, "Ye be buggerrede, for it doth sound like thine coil. Thou shouldst find thee a replacement. Seek ye a breaker's yard, for there thou shalt find thine salvation!"

8. And Ahole didst say unto the Lord, "Arse. I thoughtst as much." And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

9. Ahole didst seek a breaker's yard, but didst not find the CB100N coil that wouldst give his bike life. "Lord!" he cried. "They hath not got one! I am lost!".

10. The Lord sighed. "My child, doest thou not know that a CG125 coil would probably work too? Hath thou not the slightest bit of bodgery in you? Call yourself a biker?"

11. The breaker did indeed hath a coil from a CG125, and upon fitting it the bike didst start, and Ahole saw it was good, and did grin.

12. Ahole said unto the Lord, "Father, I hadst lost my faith, but you showed me the path to enlightenment. Canst thou forgive me?"

13. The Lord said unto Ahole, "Thou art forgiven, my child, for the bike is sent to try you. Make your way to the Hill of Boxes this Sunday, and rejoice with your fellow men. I might pop by for a burger myself, if it's nice."

14. Om Nom Nom Nom.
