I need some luggage type stuff for August's Scottish oddessey - anyone got any recommendations?

hello, im thinkin of gettin some luggage bags 4me bike wen i get it. oxford are expensive but the quality is great!
it depends on how much volume or space you want. personaly i'd go for the Oxford "humpback" panniers. they are expensive @ £85 but hold a large volume and fit any machine. you could go for the "humpback" tank bag but if ur on a NSR or any other 125 it may get in the way a little. The other thing you could do is get the "Sports" panniers which are around £100 but are for bikes with higher exhausts. personaly i'd go for the humpbacks cos you can do more with them..... its down to choice

My flate mates got an Oxford 'sports' tank bag for his r6 which he's generally pleased with, the only complaint being that it doesn't hold that much... but then it is a tank bag.

I don't think I would be able to ride my bike properly if I had tank bags and all that crap on, they look a right mess for a start (that's just my opinion) but they don't look too bad on commuter bikes, but the NSR I think would be a little unstable???

Ive ridden with a tank bag on and it didnt nake any difference - I didnt even know it was there. Actually, it was quite comfy cuz I could rest my gut on it! Laughing

Unless you want to lie completley flat along the tank a tank bag shouldn't be a problem.

Yea, It was pretty good... the line up wasn't that great but there were a few nice surprises (like aphex twin & square pusher). Felt a bit empty as there was only half the number of people going as last year.

I've got a nice set of textile pannier, which i nicked off my mum... they've got a decent capacity and *just* misses teh exhaust!

Riossi i think now make oxford bags for carnell. There nice and cheap, might get a tail pack for mine, are they at all secure??

Bendy - the Oxford luggage sets are very good. My mate got a set of panniers for his blade and they are huge inside - took a bit to get used to the weight apparently, and you couldnt have ridden pillion sensibly (but hey you canna do that on a blade anyhows).

Got a shed load of stuff in them for Silverstone.... Cooker, clothes, tent, etc etc

cool - I've ordered that Riossi set since it's on special offer, £70 for tank bag, tailpack and panniers (£115 normally) can't be bad Smile

I wanted red, but for a saving of £45 I won't grumble.

Trying to convince my dad that he really does want a set of panniers, ill grab the tankbag and tail pack! Glad u got what u wanted.
