Hi lads, what are peoples opinions / experiences of 636's, b1h's mainly. I've got another year before i can insure a litre bike, considering a change probably just to another 600 as i currently have a cbr 600f, just looking for something maybe a bit more fun and a more 'involved' ride. So what are peoples opinions on b1h's.

i recon its the best bike of its year (if not equal with the gsxr k4 for its better road manners) the only complants iv heard about them is the rock hard rear shock, but theres a few people on here who own one and dont seem to mind

My mate has a B1H before his current C6F, he stuck my spare GSXR750K4 shock on it to try, if I mind right it slightly raises the rear a wee bit, but he felt it was much better.

Thumbs Up

I do prefer the cs over the bs for their look.
They appear to be bigger but tbh not sure on the weight etc.

Couldn't be happier with mine.

Not much help I know but it's all I got Very Happy

I had a C1, it's supposed to have less firm suspension set up than the B, making a bit more suitable for our lovely billiard table roads Rolling Eyes

I would reccommend one to anyone. Easy to ride, easy to ride fast, confidence inspiring, easy to get parts and now not that dear to get hold of.

Bit if a bargain really. Thumbs Up

c models are slightly heavier, 355lbs for the 04 and 361 i think for the 05,
the 05's a bigger machine but is the most aerodynamic ninja to date, and it and the 04 model, imo are the best looking versions so far,
especially compared to the new one :

Tbh looks wise the b1h tail looks awesome but the front of the c version looks slightly better. Either way i've read some good feedback on them, just a little unsure as to whether it would be worth it, my 600 to a 636, is there 'that' much difference?

Yes, yes it would. The extra 37cc quite easily pulled away from my 52 plate CBR F Sport above 90mph (2nd/3rd gear).

Clutches up in 2nd with ease (4th over crests Laughing Tho it dont stay up Rolling Eyes )

Nothing comes close to it in the 600 class

See the Daytona's look mint, but they're a little more than what i want to spend, i'm just thinking a slight change for a year, 3-4k ish.
Thats the downside with bikes, theres way too much choice, all do different things slightly better. Spoilt for choice lol.

^^ 675 are lush, plus the sound of a triple should be bottle and sold as a viagra alterative, its a lot more expesive then the ninja and theres not half as many around on the used market, its got truck loads of torque and mid range but the ninja wins on top end, imo the c model ninja (which you can get brand new for £5000 vs the £7500 07/08 bikes) is ararguablyust as good as any of the new 6's that are about (plus you have £2500 left over to claw back any disadvantage)

They're 2 years old you can't get a brand new one, daytonas are more expensive but a good one can be had for about 5k he new zx6r has the same list price as the daytona.

i meant , 0miles on the clock, of the show room floor, pre reg 06 bikes, you would be the first to own, sit on, and ride it (isnt that a new bike?)

i wouldnt mind taking a (new?) 0miles, 0%, 2year warwarranty ninja over :

any of the above.

The new zx6's aren't 636cc they are 599cc.

Neutral Neutral Rolling Eyes , firstly, im aware of where october falls in the order of months in a year.

secondly, im aware of what cc the new 09 and current 08 kawasaki zx6r ninja is (they change to a 636 motor in 2002 till 2006 while also running a limited production race eligible 599cc model aka the zx6rr, but then change to a 599cc engine form 2007 till the current and up and coming model blah blahdy blah)

and thirdly yes mr chris-red there are places that stock the 05/06 model "brand new" ("0miles, 1st owner etc etc").:
https://www.motorcyclecentreorrell.co.uk/
https://www.kjmsuperbike.com/
https://www.prestonsuperbike.co.uk/
3 examples of dealers who do Wink

did you check for your self? Confused

Would be interesting to ride my old 06 636 against the 599cc back to back to see the difference.

I used to have a CBR600F and had an 06 C6F 636. The difference between the two is quite astounding considering they are both in the 600CC class. The 636 is brutal, unforgiving, uncomfortable and exhilerating. The CBR6 is a good bike but for exactly the opposite reasons - comfy and forgiving are two that spring to mind!

If your looking for something faster and more focused (obviously its not going to be totally mind blowingly different in speed) then its a good step to take, as long as you can get on with it day to day. For me it was too harsh on my back/wrists/neck/ears/bum etc. but it was a very very very fun bike to ride!!
