Probably expect around 100 flat out with your chin on the tank, a few seconds knocked off 0-60. Braking and handling will be exactly the same.

Fuel economy probably won't be much different (i got around £12/13 to around 100 miles on the bandit 4 restricted to 33hp)

I get a indicated (on speedo) 110mph out of my 250 hornet, however that was on a private road so I don't know what I'd get on a public road.

Still really good fun bikes (mine is the nearly the same as the oldest styling hornet, seen as the 250 was made before the 600 and the 900), I will be happy to keep mine for the two years, nearly one year down.

Although I am tempted with an xr400 or similar off-roader...

100mph on the clocks and probably and around 7seconds to 60. But it will run out of puff at about 80.

I'm not that great a fan of hornets, but that sort of power is around what I like; despite having had (well, still have) a 143rwhp zx9, the road riding I enjoyed most was on my RS250 when it had a powervalve problem and was only making 37.5hp!

Of course, before I got the powerful bike, I always wanted more Smile.

That sounds spot on, was the same when my cbr was restricted.

Also, a Hornet 250 puts out more like 40~45bhp, not 33bhp! Very nice engines, would LOVE a CBR250RR....

why didn't you just leave it unrestricted

Because they want to be legal on their licence at a guess

A CBR250 or CBR400 is on the menu for me at somepoint. I love bikes that allow me to thrash it without risking my licence Twisted Evil

are the police hot on unrestricted bikes? I mean if i were to not get it restricted would i be found quite quickly? whats your experiences, have you ever had a summons for a dyno test, and got away with it by restricting it befor or something.

"this is a scenario" Wink

dunno depends another post code lottery.

To me it's not worth it and it's better off tagging onto an MOT test at the very least.

By the time you get a rolling road out or swipe the bike it's not worth it money wise. Keep yourself out of sight and it will 99% be out of mind. Been pulled by rozzers and they didn't ask about a restriction so it's just luck.

Don't do 90mph+ and you *shouldn't* get caught. But then again nothing in life is a cast iron guarentee.

I'm sure the hornet 250 makes 38bhp new, and DS55's is restricted to 28.summat BHP.

Revvy little buggers.
