Hi,

Quick rant of what happened yesterday which I have been kicking myself for since.

I sold my Baja 5b, seen here: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110295754914&ssPageName=STRK:MESO:IT&ih=001

£450, which was surprising someone bought it for.
Anyway, the bloke says he will give cash on collection Sunday morning.
Ok, fine I think nothing of it.

So early Sunday morning, im still half asleep and tired from paintballing the previous day, two blokes pull up in a Merc and start to inspect the Baja.
Fair enough I thought.
The the older of the two piped up and said "Ill give you £400 for it".

No, £450 my reply.
They continue to inspect it, plus the spare parts.

Ok I`ll meet you in the middle, £425.
No, £450 I replied again.

Here comes the bullshit excuses as to why they cant pay £450 for it.
"I cant hear the engine running, you wouldent buy a car without hearing the engine first" (I had to spare fuel to use at all)
"Its in pretty poor condition" (Yea, as said in auction)
"Could buy a brand new one for £600" (Which you can).

Among other things. Felt quite bullied into it really.
So what do I do In my half asleep muppet state, I say "ok".

£425 handed over, they dissapear, I finally realise I`ve been a muppet and lost out on £25 for no bloody reason.
Damn it.

Although it sold for £450 on ebay, I doubt there is anything that can be done so I can get the £25 owed.
Wouldn't be saying OK basically be a verbal contract?

Oh well, lesson learned.

Im tempted to file an unpaid dispute anyway just to be cheeky.

Next time, add "You are bidding to buy, not haggle". I would have told them to either cough up the £450 or sod off - I'd rather swallow the extra fees than let someone get away with fucking me about.

That's why they've got a Merc.
Only real reason to haggle over eBay purchase is if it's not as described. Sounds like a couple of dealers.
