best bet is to try the usual sites:

moneysupermarket
confused

just make your DoB so you are 17 if it complains that you arent 17 yet, as long as you are 17 within a month or 2 it shouldnt complain about you only being 16

all them sites allow you to just pick bike type, you dont need a registration number to get a quote

I never found any of those price comparison sites much use. better off picking a few of the more popular bike insurers and calling them direct for a quote.

Cost is going to depend on may things.
Where you live
Value of bike
Standard or non standard parts
How its stored
Your biking/car use history
amount of excess
Type of insurance you take out. 3rd Party only, 3rd party, fire & theft or Fully comp.

The compare sites will give you a idea of what price range you are looking at.
Once you have used them its on the phone/internet to see what prices you really can get.
