I want to turn Moonpig into a bacon sandwich... Just so I can feel the cutting sensation when I slice through the little fockers neck between the bread.

Its a source of bemusement to me that someone who nominally wouldn't give a toss whether I lived or died would feel offended if they sent me a christmas card and I never reciprocated.

Greetings cards are for dicks, I never send them. Ergo, moonpig can kiss my ring.

Wink

(Gosh, that sounded both grumpy and butch all at the same time. Go me!! Dance! )

If anyone ever sent me a card via there, it'd go direct to recycling.

Whats wrong with writing one yourself and putting a stamp on the envelope? Are we that lazy we cant use a pen?

Grrr! Kill the Moonpig!

Arrgggh...

I dont buy greeting cards but if i did due to that advert i would never spend a penny with that company.

quality advertising, using their really annoying tune.. moonpig.com! totally embedding their website into your head (direction to website that's easy to remember).. and, that annoying tune gets people talking, even though it's generally dissatisfaction it gets referrals to other people who may not have seen it..

or it could just be the opposite lol.

However i'd been working abroad from the wife and baby for a couple of months, so for fathers day she sent me a moon pig card covered in pics of them both for fathers day.

I've been ranting at the telly for months about this sham, deceitful company - I think they should be had by trading standards. They seem to sell greetings cards, not MOON PIGS... I want one. Not an Earth pig on the moon, or a pig from the moon, but a PIG ON THE MOON.

If it's a pig on the moon you want, you could join my Moon Pig Adoption Sheme. You can adopt my moon pig 'Hammy' for a very reasonable monthly contribution.

PM me with your payment details and you will immediately become the proud adopted father of 'Hammy', a moon pig, that lives on the Moon. Proof of adoption will be in the form of a hastily put together certificate written in what appears to be crayon.

You will be free to visit him any time you like, and you will be sent updates to his general progress, a newsletter detailing his latest shenanagins, and of course pictures of 'Hammy' going about his Moon business.

All for the bargain price of only £149.99 a month! (+vat & moontax)

i take all credit/debit cards/paypal/wives.

**While every care is taken to ensure that all Moonpigs are healthy, anyone adopting a Moonpig that subsequently dies or falls ill is liable for a minimum, statutory fee of £300, 000, 000 in veterinary charges. After all, it ain't cheap to send a vet to the Moon. All fees are unrefundable. Your statutory rights are unaffected (because you don't have any).**

I had a business idea concerning greetings cards, the main difference being they'd just be honest about things.

For example, xmas cards would say inside

Quote:

I know I can't be arsed speaking to you for the rest of the year, but here is a really disingenuous xmas card anyway.

or

Quote:

Hey! Its your birthday, who gives a fuck!

Do you think it would take off?

No?

How about..

We once bribed the bird in Thorntons to write 'happy easter you cunt' on a big chocolate egg for our lecturer (he was sound).

Can you do the same profanities on that moonpig shit? Would be pretty funny to open up card to find a cute pink rabbit calling you cunt, on your birthday.

Do keep the suggestion coming... Wink

My business model (no, really...) Such as it was, described a service where people could buy printed cards which I'd send to them in the post. They'd do the name writing themselves.

Personally I can live without xmas/birthday/woteva cards, but getting one where its been run off on a bubblejet printer is really annoying. In kinda says: 'Hi, we don't like you enough to spend the time actually writing our names out with a fucking pen.'

Also, on a similar topic. Emails where the signature is in Monotype Corsiva or Verdana. What, do think I'm so fucking stupid I'll think you climbed into your computer and actually signed the email?

Wink

I've always made my own cards (yes, I am a grown up Embarassed ) for my close family and friends, but not like this load of trash - proper stuff any self respecting 3 year old would be proud of with glitter and copydex Thumbs Up

It even worked in my favour once, as my fella was mightly put out when he received a bought card for his birthday - many messages all in one card - he'd pi$$ed me off and I couldn't be bothered to make one! (I did say I was grown up, didn't I?) Anyway, that told him - he didn't get to take the mickey out of my lurvely home-made card Rolling Eyes

Mmm...

Homemade cards are a high risk strategy in terms of greetings card real-politik. If its too crappy then you run the risk of offending. On the other hand, if it oozes charm and effort you get maximum points.

I'd be calling my greeting card business planetcow.com btw... I thought it was catchy and original. Cool

Its eating its own leg. Fucking absurd. Why would a chicken eat its own leg?

Looking past the point that the chicken is on the moon, has a space helmet on and apparently can use its wings as dextrous hands, aswell as balancing on one leg.....the above is my main point.
