I've got a D900i on ebay with a broken screen, I've been asked the following:
Quote:
Hello
I need your phone for our customer
However it needs to work with a blue tooth car kit fitted direct by Audi
(Unfortunatley older software on the D900i is not compatible)
could you please email the serial number
(Not the imei) its a 11 digit number on the white label under the battery starting with the letter R.
once I get the serial number I can check if its compatible with Audi. . .and I will be able to place a bid
thanks in advance
Pete

Is this legitimate? Or are they going to steal it to clone the phone for a stolen phone?

User feed back is for two printer cartridges and two N95 batteries and other 'old' item.

I have seen that kind of thing a few times but usually it's pc's.
Ask him what site he will check it on and you do it and post him a link. Thumbs Up

Paddy.

"Unfortunatley older software on the D900i is not compatible"

Doesn't that just mean they'd need to update the firmware to make older phones work? Confused

Doesn't sound legit to me, why would a business be shopping for a damaged phone for one of its customers?

You would be surprised, my girlfriend works for a phone insurance company, aparently they sometimes buy phones off ebay as replacements for customers Shocked., Although im told only if they are in "new" condition ie no broken screen...

Would I likely be selling a stolen phone wit a broken screen Confused.
Ta for the thoughts, all; in the end I replied with this and haven't received a reply back yet:

Hi brightphone,

Unfortunately I can't disclose the serial number in case you are not the winning bidder; doesn't seem fair to the person that does win it.

However, if you can point me towards a site where I can check the version myself, I would be happy to do it for you.

Alternatively, I can reveal a part of the serial number, if that helps you.

You did you read the title which mentioned a broken screen

Regards G
