TV, PS3, Sky + etc

Right, another post on here just reminded me and I know there's people on here with AV knowledge.

My current setup has the following...
Accoustic solutions 42" tv
Panasonic SC-PT160EB-K330W Home Theatre Kit
PS3
Sky +

Now I've currently got the PS3 hooked up to the TV with HDMI and the sound output through the surround sound via the standard cable that came with the PS3 (2 of the scart cable plugged in he back of surround sound).

Stupidly I didn't research the surround sound at all before buying, it was an impulse buy. So Whilst I can watch blu-ray films, play PS3 and Ipod through the PS3 I can't use it for watching tv, would there be a better way of connecting it all up? Obviously I realise now I should've researched it and got a surround sound with more connections but never mind.

Buying an AV receiver would certainly sort you out.

But you probably don't want to hear that.

you need to tell us what inputs the sound system has(type and number of inputs), and what sound outputs the tv has

if the tv has a headphone socket, or left and right phono audio, and the sound system has left and right phono inputs for a second source, you just need a lead from maplins or similar

if your sound system, will only take inputs from one source, you will need a splitter to put both outputs into the same input

the way I'm talking about would only give you stereo sound as far as i know, rather than surround sound
