My TOm TOm one won't switch on. It does switch on if it's connected to the PC or if it's hooked up to the car charger. This is odd since, I can switch it on and then disconnect it from the car charger or the PC and it'll stay on. Anyone else have this problem

It started doing it a couple of months back. It's very odd, it's like it needs to be on the mains power to startup, but after that it works fine and holds a charge for a few hours. it's find if I'm driving the car as it's on the pwoer, but when i want to take it on the bike (in a map reader pocket) the thing won't start up).

Sounds like the power switch is faulty.

I thought you meant it turned on when power was supplied to it.

My Tomtom Rider does that - no need to use the power button to switch on if connected to the bike or car, just switch the ignition on.

Poke something small and pointy into the "reset" hole in the rear
( ooer Missus ).

That should do the trick.
