Ive just got a parking fine from lambeth parking from the 2/9/2008, Im being asked to pay £120 from parking on the pavement locking my bike to a lampost, (Footway Parking) It was not causing a Hazard for padestrians as i was parked right on the curb.
Have i got any claim or anything? Or am i fucked? It was on my old aprilia sx50, never got a parkign fine before Sad

What are that ways i can attempt to claim, do they need a picture and so forth.

I dont know what to do.
Help please

Traffic wardens these days seem to always take photos....

This has been brought up many times on the forum, i would search the forum looking for "Parking fine" to be honest because quite a few times people have come up with ideas/ways to get out of it.

You need to pay up.

You should be able to pay a reduced fine if you pay within 14 days of your receiving the PCN.

Pavement parking is not allowed anywhere in London, there is a London specific bye-law in existence. Some parking attendants let you get away with it, if it's a small bike and does not cause an obstruction, but legally, you don't have a leg to stand on.

Do i need to be handed a notice from the attendant, or is this not the case. I thought that i should be given 10 day to pay. If i did not recive this i could ask why, or not?

i had this prob before.
i got a parking fine before i went on my hols. i forgot all about it and never heard anything.
3 months later i had a letter dropped on my doorstep for late fees etc etc.
i looked at the address and they got the house number wrong (43 instead of 48) so it was going to a different address.
i rang the office and told them it has been going to the wrong address so i am not paying the excess fees as it was their fault.
he asked for my address and i wouldnt give him it until he agreed to drop the fees to the original fine and i would come in and pay it.

you do the crime and pay the fine though. no wriggling out unless they made a fault along the line that can be seen as 'upping' the fine.

Thats like a song Very Happy

But thanks for the info. Im going to write to them for a picture of the notice on the bike on the date. As i didnt recive the notice initially. I dont think i should pay 120 as i could have payed 60 if it was within 10 days.

Ta

Stamps are legal currency, so, pay them in 1p stamps, remember to tear them into individual stamps, and not send them sheets of them Twisted Evil

No, they're not. Shopkeepers can accept them if they want, but they cannot be forced to do so.

There's nothing wrong with trying to reduce the fine. If it can be reduced to zero then that's even better. Razz
