has anyone used these argos link as a speedo on a bike?

Arrow do they measure in mph
Arrow are they stable, and will stay solid on the bars
Arrow recommend? If not, which one.

Only need on while im waiting on a new speedo, mine doesnt work and a new cable hasnt worked. ive had to order one from holland.

Not used that particular one, but had a similar one on a dirtbike.

You can usually choose mph or kph in the setup, but some have a max speed - I think mine would only go up to 99mph.
They are plenty stable enough on the bars and offer pretty good accuracy. You put in the rolling diameter of your tyre and it works the rest out.

Mine got through a daylight MOT with it fitted, and never gave me any problems - more than can be said for the rest of the fucking bike!

thanks for your reply, just what i wanted to hear.
although im not sure about the rear tyre thing? which has raised an important point, how does it measure speed btw Embarassed

What you do is mark your wheel (front wheel as that is where the pickup will go) with a bit of chalk, and mark the floor. Wheel your bike foward until your wheel has made 1 complete revolution and mark the floor again.

You measure this distance, this is your rollout, and input it into the speedo somehow (it tells you how to do it in the instructions)

I used one back when I rode a GS125 because I wanted a clock, mainly. I did rig up the speedo as well and as it had the option to input the wheel diameter it was fairly accurate, as far as I could tell.
