Crashed my bike at knockhill in the pouring rain Sad My first ever crash on a bike, an expensive one. Unexpected winter project it is then.

R&G cotton reel managed to tear the mount right off the swingarm Confused Kinda glad I never had crash bobbins on if they were gonna do this to the frame mounts.

Ouch, doesn't look good at all. You going to re frame it?

You've definitely got your work cut out this winter there. Just be glad you're ok.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet but the frame dent is pretty small so I might just leave it. I've ordered an altenator cover and new peg and peg bracket and then I'll stick the seat on and go for a ride to see if it still runs straight. But it seems straight from when I sat on it rolling down the hill out of knockhill to get the RAC to pick me up Laughing

its a bummer when this happens but on a positive note just use the scratch panels you have now as trackday fairings and buy mint panels and keep them somewhere safe until you come to sell it.

get some crash protection for your tank otherwise type fireball r6 into youtube and see the results.

crash damage like this always gives you more kudos points at meets and start off alot of conversations.

I'm no expert but I think you may have problems with that dent in the frame, i'm sure i read somewhere insurers would write a bike off for that.

So either re-frame it or stick carbon fiber over it,,, but find out properly first.

Unlucky on the crash, what happened?

What sort of problems? I'm not claiming off my insurance but I do agree I think the bike would be written off if I did. It is only a small dent though which must of been done by the bars.

I was going around a right hander in the pouring rain and lost the rear, but since all the damage is on the left I guess it must of been a bit of a highside.

Would it still even be covered on the general insurance policy if it were binned at a race track, on a track day?

Nasty dent in the tank, what caused that?

No it wouldn't. But the paramedic said to me I should push it onto the road and say someone pulled out in front of me lol. I only have TPFT anyway because fully comp was an absolute fortune when I took the policy out at 20 years old.

I did think about this but does it matter that it's an aluminum frame? Would they be able to get the same finish as standard?

I've heard of this before, man the roads just outside of the gates of race tracks must be an accident black spot. Laughing

err 70% sure they can do it if they want to puff that particular bit in, but otherwise just tell them to spray the whole frame. its going to cost a fair bit eithier way, it depends how mint you want the bike....

Yeah I'm sure he did, I had my bike leaning against a big rock right next to the sign cause the side stand had broken which must of made it even more obvious Laughing He still took me the 1 hour journey home though Thumbs Up

This was me waiting on the RAC van with the bike proped against the stone from the bikes good side, you can't even tell it's damaged from this angle!

I think I read that the road just outside of the Nurburgring is the worst 'blackspot' in Europe... wonder why Laughing

alraldite works well for cracked engine casings as long as the damage isnt too severe, always carry some on trackdays, as well as spare levers and rearsets/footpegs.

my K7 750 got written off for a dent in the frame like that caused by the handlebar... annoyed me as the rest of the damage was only cosmetic.

99% sure that is a write off if you take it through insurance.
