Yes they are - there is a 3rd associated company but can't remember who that is.

is it ' the fast one' or something you're thinking of?

they are both good stores anyway - even if they are pointlessly the same...

why spend all of that money on two shipping departments, two catalogues, two websties etc etc ... when you could work from under one name - pay one lot and use the spare money to open more shops in other areas?! i guess they have their reasons...

I don't think the other posters in this thread are right.

I always thought that M and P were first, then MPS started up, and then a load of employees from M and P left because they were dissatisfied and set up Busters. I think they must have taken the suppliers list with them.

I think M and P took over MPS, and Busters (as far as I am aware) are a different company.

i'm not sure, it's been said a few times on the forum that they are the same - and i've heard it mentioned locally too (and i live not too far from the two shops) so i'd think they are the same .... could be wrong - i dont care either way really thoguh - i deal with both but only really visit M and P's cos they open sundays and have a much better showroom, car park and a cafe Cool

Hi

Think both are right. My understanding is that Busters landed up buying M&P when they went bust.

All the best

M&P was started by Mark Collings who sold out to someone and moved on and started up Busters.

Norman Birttles ran MPS the fast one.

M&P has constantly been in financial problems and paid a fortune to Norman Birttles to run it so the companies merged.

M&P went bust and the new owners asked Mark Collings to take over again and iirc he bought them out so all 3 companies are pretty much merged these days.
