I'm trying to sell my bike at the moment and I keep getting phone calls from companies like www.premiersearchuk.co.uk

I'm not really into the idea of these companies. I was wondering if anyone had ever used them?

It seems a bit dodgy to me, someone phoning you to say they can sell your bike for you and asking you to pay them 80 quid there and then over the phone Confused

Basically tell them to Middle Finger .
Or you could argue with them for a bit for some fun: as it's such a good deal, why don't they personally put forward the money and you'll promise to pay them personally a hundred quid... so they them selves are also making on it.

Also beware of people from abroad with dodgy cheques etc... never let your bike go before you have cleared funds.

Yeah I basically told them to fuck off. The fifth time one of them phoned me I went ballistic at them Evil or Very Mad .

Bloody nuisance.

Somebody must be using this service though.

Hmm that's funny!

hunter123 and dlnd both signed up on the 5th April. Then they both went on to sing the praises of premiersearch.co.uk.

What's up guys, you on commission or something?

One of shauns friends fell for their scam and lost her 80 quid for nothing.

I suspect they get your phone number off either the loot website or adtrader as it happened to me (got a phone call off some foreign guy both on my mobile and house phone everyday.) Some of them are REALLY pushy as well saying things like 'we have a buyer waiting to buy your bike now, all we need is £80' One of them even called me names down the phone because I said no!

These sort of companies you should avoid like a dog shit on the pavement.

If you put premiersearchuk.co.uk into Google this thread is about third, so I guess they found us that way. They probably run the sca... I mean companies. Wink

Given that on a rare Rolling Eyes occasion we have been known to buy a bike or car and never used this type of service (or know people who do) then i always give them the Middle Finger . Mind you we don't sell as often......

Do we ever sell vehicles? Think the last one we sold was my Alfa 75 to your sister in 1998.

All the best

£80 thats a bump, why not just put it on ebay which is a lot cheaper and popular.

Just Middle Finger Evil or Very Mad Middle Finger .

Quite easily, you list it then people bid on it and if you do get messed around you get to list it again for free! Thumbs Up

Seems like the better and cheaper option than paying a company £80 who won't even sell your bike for you just take your money.

And just make sure the people who are bidding on it have good feedback and cancel the bids by people who have negative or no feedback.

Well if your way is better how come you don't have many bikes on your site and ebay has hundreds.

I'd rather pay a couple of pounds on ebay and take the risk of being 'messed around with' as opposed to £80? or how ever much you scam people out of.

Going loco, down in acapulco! *sings*

Stick your bike on eBay True Blue, if you wait for a free listing day and put a really high reserve on it, you will get an almost free valuation of what the bike will go for.

What I'd like to know, is if these scammers knows how many wheels a bike has, as they seem to just want to sell us rubbish "services" that just take our cash, instead of think about the bike.

Oh, and bikeman, just to wonder if you know what a bike is, what engine size is a CBR600, hmmm?

p.s. this could go to flame wars Razz

Read the fights and flaming section, theres a post on them, personally i would NEVER pay £79.99 to sell my bike, £15.00 ad does the trick every time, advertise correctly, know what your talking about you shouldn't have a problem. But the main problem is muppets whos first questions are "how fast is it?!?!?".
