 |
|
It's nearly that time! Test tomorrow lunchtime, Got a lesson later today to go over u-turns, eStops etc. Then tomorrow I've got just over an hour riding around the test area with my instructor and then test at 12:05 I think, forecast for sunny intervals so lets hope it stays that way.
Obviously the nerves are starting to creep in a bit now but that's just part and parcel I suppose. Had a drive around the test area on Saturday in my car to see what I might be up against - very bad road surfaces with loads of manholes and potholes, temp roadworks and temp speedlimits - yeah it's gonna be fun
Anyway, wish me luck, although I hope I don't need it
As long as I pass I've got a ZX6R sitting waiting for me ____________________ ZX6R F3 |

The test isnt as hard as your probably expecting it to be, was the same for me. The nerves will go after the test starts and its just like being out with an instructor, ride as your trained to do and you'll pass. Might not need to worry anyway as there is a chance the test may get cancelled, all the test today were cancelled due to strong winds and tomorrow is forecast for strong winds again ____________________ ZX6R F3 |

Had a lesson tonight and everything went horribly wrong even before I got on the bike.
Was just getting my intercom on when me and the instructor heard a lass in alot of distress, we went to see what the problem was, her baby girl was really poorly in the pushchair and we had to ring an ambulance, it wasn't nice for the lass and her little girl and we couldn't really do anything to help apart from phone the ambulance and speak to the driver etc.
When all that was over we got on our bikes, albeit a bit shaken by what had happened, couldn't stop thinking about it
Anyway riding along and was asked to take next right, As I turned onto the road some fecking idiot with a dog walked out from behind one of the cars in the queue of traffic right in front of me, slammed on the anchors and nearly shat myself. The guy stepped back and looked at me as if I'd tried to run him over, %$£87^!!!!!
After that we arrived at an industrial estate and pulled into a quiet side road to practice some u-turns.
For the life of me I couldn't think straight due to what had happened already, start to do the u-turns and they just fell apart, I was all over the place and getting really Pissed off with myself. Managed to get it together and crack a couple of good ones off but was still thinking about the other stuff.
Hope I don't make the mistakes on the u-turn tomorrow that I did tonight or I'll be pulling another 80 squid out ____________________ ZX6R F3 |

Test Day:
Very bad day indeed, got to training school and spoke to the lad who'd just come back from his test, he'd failed
Oh well I might be ok anyway, got on the bike and the instructor giving instructions etc on the way to the test centre, we stopped off to do some u-turns - what a nightmare, the first one I did I dropped the bike on top of my leg, ouch! Dusted my ego down and got back on, tried another and nearly hit the kerb, wasn't nervous just crap, too little throttle. Cracked a few more off which were very good, went on a nice ride towards the test centre and stopped to do some more u-turns, needless to say the first 2 were crap, the road was really narrow which didn't help especially with the wierd camber too, tried a couple more and done very well
Rode to the test centre, instructor ran through the "show me" Tell me" questions , done a quick eyesight test to make sure I could actually see . Instructor took my docs and went inside while I stopped outside to have a much needed smoke
Went inside the test centre and sat and waited for the examiner to appear - a really nice woman came out wearing boots and and armoured trousers, "Mr .........." she said, "Yes" I replied. She then looked at me and said in an unfortunate sounding voice "I'm sorry but we won't be going ahead today due to string winds"
I nearly lost the plot "Why? It's not even that windy man" I sort of blurted, "I ride in worse weather than this on a daily basis, why can't I ride in this?"
"It's a matter of health and safety I'm afraid, really sorry" she said.
I was absoloutly gutted, my insrtuctor was fuming and to boot I'd just wasted a days holiday off work which I had to buy cos I had no normal holiday entitlement left.
Now just gotta wait for a new appointment to come through, chances are it'll be pissing it down then and they'll take me out in that ____________________ ZX6R F3 |

If you do a real emergency stop on your test, and it is OK, then the examiner will not ask you to do another, ( one test I was on, the pupil fluffed the "fake" one, then shortly afterwards did a perfect real one (cadence braked as well!!!), and the examiner commended her, and ignored the previous mistake!) |
Thats ok then, as long as you only run over 50% of anyone or any thing that may step out in front of you. | It wasn't a major fault, twas only a minor....she signalled left before starting to pull away, then cancelled it before she actually moved ____________________ Ride Safe 'N' Free |

As the DSA made the decision to cancel my test can I claim for the days holiday I've now lost? As I said I had to PAY for the extra holiday which has now been wasted due to the DSA's decision not mine, I'm also gonna have to PAY for another days holiday for the next appointment, this is proving to be expensive. If all goes well and I can take the next one then that's £300 it's cost ME to take 1 test ____________________ ZX6R F3 |
