i have a cagiva mito mk2 , it just wont start i have lights on the lil dash an it turns over but it just wont fire up , there is a blue spark from the plug , has any 1 got an clue to what i could do ????

Hi,
is the battery fully charged?
have you tried bumping it?
is fuel getting to the carb? (open drain bolt?)
is it getting to the cylinder? (is the plug wet when you take it out after trying to start it?)
i'd try those 1st.

yer i put petrol in where the spark plug is an it fired up , a gd man i know said clean the carb so will do that

hi,
most likely the carb then.
as long as you know what your doing, take the carb off & give it a clean/blow out & make sure everythings ok, like the floats etc.
but you have checked the fuel pipe?
ie. is fuel flowing from the tank to the carb?
if it is, then you've isolated the problem - the carb.

How do u clean the carb, take it apart and wash it with fairy liquid ? Razz

hi,
he he, that made me laff, though i have cleaned a carb bowl bottom in the sink, when i didnt have access to my shed, to get anything else to clean it.
just buy a can of carb cleaner, give it a good clean out & blow through with an airline as rotax81 says.
when you open it up, the tell tale signs are reddish brown stains on the carb bowl lid & gummed up jets.
previously i've just taken the carb all apart (remember where everything goes!)
& left the bits soaking in a big jar of deisel or parrafin.
this usually disolves most of the sticky residue left by old fuel, then just blow through with the compressor making sure the air is getting through all the little holes in the jets.
