 |
|
So far i've been riding in trainers but now i have just got my self some new Nitro Race Boots. I haven't ridden in them yet but sat on my bike and messed around with the gears and the rear brake to see how it felt. It felt really awkward and i couldn't really feel much, they are also quite chunky making it difficult to move around too
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get used to them? ____________________ Bikes : 2006 CBR125R - 2004 Monster 620ie - 2004 ZX-6R B1H - 2005 Monster S2R 800 - 2011 Street Triple - 2009 Streetfighter 1098 - 2014 ZX-6R 636

Yep, do plenty of riding while wearing them! I too have a pair of nitro race boots (101's) that i got recently. They were unbeleivably painful at first. And i could hardly feel gears, brake etc. They wear in gradually. I have done a couple hundred miles in them now and they feel awesome. Not 'quite' broken in but almost. I can walk more than 5 yards in them now anyway lol. |

since that first time they have been fine, walk about in them for a bit and they will soon be ok. i love mine now ____________________ ZX636C6F road. ZX636C1H track. ZX7R redundant. ZX0.5R minimoto as ornament.

I guess i will just have to keep wearing them and get used to it. The only reason i don't wear them is because my journey is only like 10mins and also i don't fancy walking around uni in them all day ____________________ Bikes : 2006 CBR125R - 2004 Monster 620ie - 2004 ZX-6R B1H - 2005 Monster S2R 800 - 2011 Street Triple - 2009 Streetfighter 1098 - 2014 ZX-6R 636

I just got a new pair of Sidi vertigo corsa's and spent two full days walking around at work in them to break them in.
I got to use them on the bike for the first time yesterday and they were spot on |

I won't wear anything other than my boots now for riding the bike, I got some RST Vortex, really comfortable, waterproof and offer good protection. They took a little bit of getting used to but I love the feel of them now. I actually find it harder to ride with my trainers on now so don't bother at all.
Just wear them as much as you can and they'll soon break in just like any other footwear ____________________ ZX6R F3 |

Why not take a bag to college with you so you can take a change of footwear?? Beats walking around in boots and may also prevent some severe pi** taking! |

bummer. Id probably opt for some sturdy footware rather than the booties then but, they gonna be the safest in an accident i suppose, even if you would look a little silly walking round college in them Looks are no substitute for safety and all that lol |

Thanks for the help people! I'll get wearing them and i doubt anyone will take the piss because there are quite a few bikers at uni and also as wisenerl said once they see the helmet they'll know i ride a bike. Thanks again ____________________ Bikes : 2006 CBR125R - 2004 Monster 620ie - 2004 ZX-6R B1H - 2005 Monster S2R 800 - 2011 Street Triple - 2009 Streetfighter 1098 - 2014 ZX-6R 636

I just took a pair of shoes to work in my bag one day, just leave them there and change into them when I get to work.
Would look a bit of a muppet with shirt + tie, trousers and bike boots on ____________________ ZX6R F3 |

Some of us are students!
It's all about the workmans boots, I know you're not supposed to wear steel toe and all that, but I have some akito boots for rideouts, and I wear riggers style boots all the time on and off the bike, protective enough methinks, only own a pair of trainers for driving in.

Have at look at these.
Clicky
Great budget boots, don't look too bad and I had a milk float run over my feet while wearing them and got away unharmed. |
